It's really useful that as usual you made the extra effort to cut open the valve so we could see the internals 🙂

This is from Mike. I was taking my car out of storage and checked tire pressures. One of the valve stems started leaking. I thought I was going to have to replace something. I watched this video and all I needed to do was tighten the valve core !!! Thank you for saving me a trip to the tire place.😊😊😊

Replacement is hardly a “fix”, considering the new core is only bought with a new tube 😂
@dawn_rider Жыл бұрын
You can buy replacement Schrader valve cores at automotive shops and online , at least in the UK ( I have checked ) . Otherwise you can extract one from an irreparable tube with an otherwise good replaceable core.

Hey and thanks for the comment. I value your opinion, though I respectfully disagree. Replacing the faulty valve core is a way to fix a air leak in the valve. Also, as @dawn_rider pointed out you can acquire replacement valve cores without having to buy an entire tube. And yes, you can also extract a perfectly good valve from an old tube as well.

@@cyclemaintenanceacademy yeah, my bad. Whilst I couldn’t just buy cores in at least three countries i used to live in, those could still be salvaged from the trash, if i ever thought about saving old valves. Lol still sounds unrealistic to me, sorry my friends

Go to your local bike co-op and they will have scores of punctured inner tubes they are throwing out. Or to any bike shop; they will probably just give it to you.
