PRIMA! Absolutely outstanding brass and woodwind sections. Why the conductor never had them stand for special section ovation?! Schade! But as always, what an incredible orchestra this is. Still #1 in my book! String section: absolute perfection and mastery. How I envy the audiences in Frankfurt.

Bravissimo! Wonderful rendition - stunning first and fifth movements, never before heard so accentuated and balanced between strings and woodwind/brass, especially in the fifth mvt. Orchestra take great care in listening and following the conductor. It’s a joy to observe his „dancing about the music“, much in a league like Petrenko or Klaiber, always the decisive tat ahead of the music, so it evolves along his lead: this performance of the Rheinische is to me very much consistent and generates great breathing and flow, especially in 1st & 5th mvt. Hanks forthilft offering! ❤😊🎉

During the live concert, just before the "Rheinische" symphony, Florin and Maximilian played Ligeti's "Baladă și joc - für zwei Violinen". It was quite neat to see both pieces be played back to back with no transition in the between - not even claps. Very clever move, not captured here. Unfortunately. As always, one more fantastic performance. Thank you hr-Sinfonieorchester for sharing one more outstanding performance.

I don't know how he did it, but the final movement of this piece is upbeat, uplifting, majestic, and lighthearted at the same time. Probably one of my favourite final movements in a symphony ever!

If your heart does not swell with emotions with the first bars of this magnificent opening - you´re dead! What a glorious sound - captured so perfectly by the great technical team! Love the warm tone, the tempi not rushed, the musical themes singing and flowing. Schuhmann' life may have been tragic - but his music is not - it´s geniial in the best sense. Bravo to Orchestra, Maestro Carydis and the technical team. Shoutout to concert master Florin Iiescu who is clearly on fire throughout the evening!

When a diligent conductor simply lets the musicians of an excellent orchestra play at ease and enjoy themselves, the result is... the listener greatly enjoys himself. Light tempos and a good stress on the windwood instruments, at times in a very noticeable way, like in 0:58.

The tempos are way too fast. The production, video quality & camera work is unsurpassed. This remains for me THE top YT channel for extremely high quality classical music. Thank you from California USA!
@cstamitz5 ай бұрын
I have to disagree about the tempos, they are quite normal, not too fast or too slow. However, the performance is pretty sluggish. The Rhenish needs lots of energy and this conductor does not get it for some reason. Just my opinion, FWIW.

Einfach wunderbar!
