This dye is awesome to cover my level 9 bleached hair. It hides all the yellow and turns almost white. I know it’s more damaging than toner but toner literally does not last for me. This stuff rocks.

That is such a pretty color. I’m almost 60 years old and I don’t have gray hair. It’s gotten really dark. I think I’m close to it turning gray, but I think I want to do something fun, I’ve been sick for a very long time , over a decade, but I’m feeling better lately with a new medicine. And I’m just hoping to do something fun. My husband cut my hair, it’s an inverted bob, it was really long and just weighing me down, oh I hope I don’t mess it up. I'm trying this out tomorrow. I got my hair dyed metallic silver at a salon (cost 600 dollars because she charges by the hour). She did a good job but there's still blond pieces so I'm hoping to get it done myself. Also, I love how when you're applying it to your hair, you can see the other dyed peices slowly turning silver. Did you dye it over platinum or a darker blonde? Because that will definitely affect the darkness of it. But using less or more doesn’t change the color, you want to make sure all of your hair is saturated. Maybe next time, don’t leave it on your head for as long, or I think you can dilute the color by mixing in some conditioner (don’t quote me on this, I would still google it before trying lol).

I’m sure you can if you’re hair is blonde enough. Did it go orange tho or just like a light yellow? If it’s more orange, toning isn’t going to work, I would try bleaching it with a volume 20 or 30 developer (NOT 40 volume) and then toning again to get the platinum and then giving your hair a couple weeks break and then using the silver dye. And then how I keep the silver color is using a purple shampoo every time I wash my hair. Every once in a while I’ll dye it purple with a temporary or semi permanent dye and it fades back to silver.

Don’t use as much toner next time, after a couple washes the purple should fade out but once it does, you’ll want to use a purple shampoo to keep that silver look or it’ll go a warm blonde

These dyes work best on very light blonde or bleached hair. They don’t really show up on dark hair. It worked on my bleached hair but did nothing when applied to my brown roots.

They’re the same as any other box dye, it’s not good for your hair but not necessarily bad. I’ve used boxed dye pretty much my whole life and never had an issue. I would 100% not recommend using it on damaged hair tho.

It didn’t burn me at all but everyone’s skin is different so I would definitely do a patch test like maybe a spot on your arm just to see how you react to it, especially if you’ve had reactions to hair dyes before.

Anyway, It turned out such a dark gray, and it also looked blue. I immediately washed it with purple shampoo and put fanci-full rinse on it (ultra white minx) that made it a tiny bit lighter but it is still blue. I think I am going to contact scharkopf!

When bleaching your hair, you never start at the root because it will process faster than the rest of your hair, same with dying over bleached hair. My hair his bleached. My roots are also brown and with this specific color, it won’t show up on any other colors than light blonde or bleached blonde, so it wouldn’t have made a difference anyway. I’m also keeping my roots brown until they grow out like an inch or so. I’ve watched enough brad mondo to know that when you’re dealing with bleach and bleached hair that you never start at the root lol
