You are so right! Almost no vids on repairing these. They are great machines and I'm hoping to keep mine going for a long time. Thanks so much!!

Nice work man! Appreciate you taking the time to go through this! Just picked on up for $30 just like yours.

Thank you for your video, it's very helpful. I just got my 2000 Airdyne yesterday and have been trying to make it quieter. It seems like I weaved rubber bands in and out of the fan cage an tightened a slightly loose fan blade and it helped some.

Thank you so much for making these videos. We really do need them! When transporting your bike how do you handle/maneuver it? Anyway you could make a short video on that? Really appreciate it!

Just got an old AD4 for free on Craigslist. Computer seems to work well on it and it’s clean and in good shape. I’m missing one of the bolts where the fan cage mounts to the frame. Hopefully I can easily find a generic bolt to fit. This seems like a really well made machine, and will be great for days that I can run or ride my road bike.

There are a bunch of clips that hold the two sides of the fan together. Any of those screws will fit and taking off just one clip won't be an issue.

I have an assault bike pro x belt version. There is a bumping noise in the handle bar linkage system but it usually only occurs in the beginning of pedaling. I’ve had one side bell crank replaced but I don’t know if it’s the other side. Please help

Good video ... but I have a question about a "tick" sound in the right pedal of our Schwinn Air Dye bike. Have had the bike for just a month or so and everything sounded perfect, but after some use, we're noticing a tick sound that you can feel as your right foot reaches the top of the rotation. Wondering what might cause that and how we can fix it.

Is the actual pedal loose? If so, its easy to tighten with a rubber mallet and 10mm ratchet. Just loosen the bolt on the wedge pin and hammer it down tighter and then retighten the bolt. I need to make a video of that but just haven't had much free time recently. But it sounds to me like the chain is just hitting the chain guard for a second. I'd spin the pedals while watching the chains to see where the noise is coming from.

I have the same thing on the left pedal! Thought it was the rear chain but it’s not.

How do we remove the fan cage on an AD4? I’d like to paint it and clean the fan blades. Just bought it used and need it! Thank you!

What do you recommend to lubricate the chain on these Airdyne bikes? Thank you for your response.

I picked one up cheap a few months back that's virtually identical to yours, except that the "Schwinn" decal is directly below where yours is, and on the side of the stabilizing bar, rather than on top of it, if that makes sense. The digital display works too. How do find out the year it was made? And Jeez, Louise, the seat is VERY uncomfortable.

I have a Airdyne AD7. I hear a squeaking sound when I pedal. The sound is there when the pedal reaches downward. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I have an Airdyne AD7, when getting on today, the pedals and belt made a grinding noise when I pedaled. I think this is a bearing issue and not too sure how it can be fixed.

Is the ticking sound normal? I thought that was the noise he was going to fix, but no. I picked up an Ad4 yesterday and thought the wheel bearings might need replacing, but it sounds just like the videos.

Question: have you (or anyone) drilled and tapped the AD4 crank arm to 9/16” thread so it can accommodate pedals from other manufacturers?
@fitness45852 жыл бұрын
I have not! I'm assuming it would be a pretty straightforward task if you know what you're doing. Their plastic pedals definitely could use an upgrade!

Tightening the belt on the AD7/Pro is the same procedure. The service manual states that unless you can feel the belt slipping than there is no reason to tighten the belt. Good luck!

Never seen that issue before! If it was mine I would probably just snip it off. You'll probably have to take the cage apart though.
