That's a nice review, from someone who is clearly a real fan of the series. I bought one of these a couple of years ago, and never regretted it. It really is excellent. The amazing thing is that it even has a detailed cockpit inside, but there seems to be no way of getting it open to have a look at it. I've thought about re-painting to a lighter green, and adding some light weathering, but the thought of trying to mask of all the lettering has put me off that idea.

Hey buddy thank you so much for the kind words, I won’t lie I am quite the fan of the show I even have TB2 tattooed on my arm hahaha. This is a really nice model to put on your shelf. There are some things wrong when it comes to the shape and things but overall I’m very happy. I was thinking to same thing not to long along buddy but I had the same issue as you, how the hell will I mask the lettering off. You would be best just getting new decals to be honest. Also one of the other versions of the model actually is a much lighter green and comes with more vehicles. Thanks for the comment buddy and don’t forget to sub for more Thunderbirds videos.

another great review bud, the quality and attention to detail is typical of the high end Japanese models, i agree it would have been nice to have something to secure TB4 into the pod, even a small magnet would have been a good idea...thanks bud, definitely an item to add to the collection in the near future!

This is high quality and that makes it seem so odd that they got some sizes and angles so incorrect. The angle of the nose is too “bulbous” and the tail fin is too tall... the tail cross section is too thin as well. Its so affordable and detailed that I can live with the inaccuracies... but they need to be mentioned.

Hi there. Good review. I'm considering buying one of these, but being a stickler for detail (and also too much of a peasant to buy the Takara version) I am torn between this one and the new version. The new one seems to have a more accurate colour, but for the life of me, I can't find out if the pod has a number on the back of it. I know this one has 4 on the back of the pod, but nobody wants to give me an answer about the new version! Does anyone here have the answer to this? Maybe someone owns the second release (with Firefly, Mole etc) and can tell me if the pod has any number on the BACK? Thanks again, and good review. More TB stuff pls

I have to admit myself the newer one is a lot batter man. As you said it’s a more accurate colour and you get more with it. I did a plan on getting on but never get round to it.

you could have gotten both this and the limited edition green chrome one for that amount of money from Hobby Link Japan at that time. Its obviously too late now. But I got both versions and am extremely happy with both
