As a little kid, I loved the show. The theme always sends chills up my back.

It's interesting that this episodes story was written by Meyer Dolinsky, who also wrote the screenplay for the Outer Limit episode "O.B.I.T.". Also notable is actor Ray Collins in the episode. He was in Orson Welles Mercury Theater group and starred in Citizen Kane as "Boss Big Jim Gettes".

Wonderful job. Ray Bloch would be pleased, I'm sure, of this restoration of his wonderful, powerful theme.

For many years, this music was thought to have been composed by either Ray Noble, or Ray Bloch, but was confirmed to have been composed by David Rose under the pseudonym "Ray Lewellyn", in 1955.

Written by Ray Bloch (as "Ray Llewellyn"), and recorded for the World Broadcasting System transcription service {owned by ZIV Television} in 1955.

And unfortunately, the score for that theme has long since disappeared.

The music is beyond disturbing and hyper generic of the times. Awful.

Composed by David Rose, his first composition for television, under the pseudonym of "Ray Lewellyn", and licensed to World Broadcasting Service, owned by Ziv-TV Studios. A classic film score!

Composed by "Ray Lewellyn". once thought to have been 1930s & 1940s bandleader Ray Noble, or Jackie Gleason's music director Ray Bloch, ghostwriting, but now has been confirmed to have been composed and conducted by David Rose. He composed it as a "back door deal" since his own name could not be used because he was under contract to MGM Studios as their Music Director and head of MGM Records in 1955 when this was composed and recorded.

What evidence do you have to provide this confirmation?
@TheDejael22 күн бұрын
@@GlamRockCowboy A musical researcher named David Lambert found some notes in David Rose's archives after his passing in 1990 which showed him to be the composer under a pseudonym since at the time he was under contract to MGM in the 1950s and this allowed him to make a little money on the side for his music projects.
