sun light = straight lines, the stone has 2 "images" front and back if the sun is anything but exactly on line with both images the images wouldnt line up and woul apear apart, if the images line up exactly on top of each other it means the sun light (the sun) is exactly behind the stone from where you are looking from

The stuff they were making for Suika's mocktail is a yogurt soda. I don't know why or how it started, but yogurt-flavored soda is really popular in Japan; maybe it was a sugar-coating to get more Japanese people to drink milk without the usual bubble-guts (lactose intolerance is common on that side of the globe). It's not that much stranger than say root beer over here in the states, if you really think about it. Also, to why beer was considered valuable: they didn't have all the QoL things we do now back then, imagine being in the blistering desert with no AC or running water, also it was a guaranteed drink you weren't going to get a disease from.
