Until today it's useful for me and I'm using it for quick revision in 12th grade for my combined science exam, it's excellent for jogging memory. Thank you for this straightforward video!

@satishnikam62213 жыл бұрын
You can even take a food item, wrap it in paper and just rub the paper. The paper would turn greasy and a bit translucent if the food item has fats. This test is far more easier than the one you did.
@muhammadfarhan33412 жыл бұрын

why do u have to pour the biuret solution on top of the protein suspension, basically y does it have to form a layer on top before mixing?
@Science_Sauce4 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t. In the experiment in the video I used egg white which is very thick so the solutions didn’t mix until shaken or stirred. It’s not necessary for that to happen when testing for proteins, however.

what if the food is solid? do i have to crush it and take the moisture out from the food sample? i hope you can answer this quickly. i have a practical for food test on monday haha
@afsanaferdousi7868 жыл бұрын
Zahirah Ramlan if the food is solid, ex: potato which contains starch, it'd still show changes when iodine solution is added. however, you are always supposed to use liquid samples in exams as changes won't be visible in solid state. You won't need to sample solid in exams or elsewhere.
@Science_Sauce8 жыл бұрын
+Zahirah Ramlan that's right, you'll need to crush the sample if it's solid, and in most cases in a practical exam a liquid sample is necessary. Good look with your practical on Monday!

is it a must to use distilled water for the ethanol emulsion test in exams or?? :)
@Science_Sauce8 жыл бұрын
+Zoey TMH technically, yes. Distilled water is pure, but "normal" water (eg tap water) contains impurities which may affect your experiments, so all laboratory work involving water should require distilled water. In reality, tap water would work fine for this experiment (but you should specify "distilled water" for exams, just to be safe).
