Scientists Find a Hidden Ocean on Mars | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Scientists have found a hidden ocean on Mars. It is a reservoir of liquid water deep in Martian rocks. This underground reservoir is enough to cover the entire Martian surface with water. But it is trapped in tiny cracks and pores of rocks in the middle of Mars' crust. Will using this water be a challenge? What can humans learn from this discovery? Will this reservoir help humans inhabit Mars? Palki Sharma brings you the report.

Mars is the least dense out of the four Terrestrial planet much much less dense than earth The only reason the whole could not be dug further into Earth was because of overheating of equipments. However this won't be a problem in March because the planet is smaller in size so the heat is much less as it cooled down much faster over billions of years. So we can dig much further in Mars compared to earth.

It also could imply that if recent claims turn vacuum later, a questionable role of who has had have been investing on Mars discoveries? How much have been spent? Is it from public or government or personal funding? What's the total so far.. what difference can it make.. to invest more or to return & rather spend such on to Earth's development

I just learnt how to correctly pronounce the word "Reservoir". 20 kms below the surface is already high pressure and high temperature. To everyone here, we don't necessarily need to drill that deep. It's extremely likely that we drill down to about 5-8 kms and with the huge pressure differential between the surface and 20 kms below, we may end up with very high pressure water gushing out.. Very difficult but not at all impossible to do. Containment of the water is the most difficult task. For any significant long term operation we will need in situ manufacturing of some materials.. that's where the solution would start.
