SUMMARY:
- The Titanic struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912. Just a few hours later, the ship split in 2. It was last seen at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912. That was the last time people would see the marvelous boat afloat.
- Many expeditions tried to find the wreck of the Titanic, trying to estimate where it would have landed, but none succeeded. It wasn’t until 1985 that oceanographer Robert Ballard accidentally discovered the ship while on a US Navy mission.
- To this date, only a few people have had a chance to see the Titanic. One of them is the director of the Hollywood movie, Titanic, James Cameron. He brought pictures back from the wreck that showed further deterioration.
- In a matter of 20 to 50 years, the bacteria will have eaten so much of the ship that the wreck will be unrecognizable.
- As the window of opportunity to see the site closes, American company OceanGate offers trips to the wreck. The first trip carrying tourists was supposed to head down in 2018, but the weather wasn’t favorable, so it was pushed back to 2019.
- The journey to the wreck involves an 8-day trip, which leaves from Newfoundland, Canada. Once inside the sub, you’ll descend a distance of 12,500 ft to the ocean floor.
- A big concern is whether companies like OceanGate and The BlueFish would be disturbing what’s essentially a burial site. Both companies insist that the dives are made respectfully and that they don’t retrieve any artifacts.
- What’s certain is this - when the trips do take off, only a lucky few will be able to see the wreck since the subs can only take about 9 passengers at a time (in addition to the crew).
- If you are interested in seeing it before it disappears, the time is now. In 100 years, the site of the Titanic might have just a few remnants strewn on the ocean floor.
- A trip to the site will cost you $105,219 per person.

It is June 21, 2023 and an Oceangate's Titan submersible , a truck size was sub was going down to the Titanic and is now lost and more than likely the 5 people in the sub will die if they are not gone already. Its been 3 days since the sub lost contact with the ship that is soppose to be able to save them if needed. They now have less than 24 hours of oxygen, Just imagine what these people are going thru if they are still alove. Sitting in a dark freezing capsule. Watch what you wish for. These people spent $250K each and will never even be able to talk to anyone about the adventure. Very sad. Be happy with pictures you can see of the ship. You are safe where you are. Prayers for all 5 people in the Sub.

The original on one hand wasn't very exciting, because it was black and white with no good effects like being able to film the propellers and the Titanic breaking in half. The 1997 version was very good. It was the first version of Titanic I saw and I loved it. You actually got to see how the engines worked, and the effect of the Titanic breaking in half was amazing

You can also visit a museum in Halifax, Canada where things from the Titanic is displayed. The Titanic sank on early April 15 1912 and 3 days later a boat from Canada came to the wreck and found some things that belonged to the passengers.

Unfortunately it is completely impossible to raise the Titanic. She’s been submerged for over 100 years and has rusted so much, she’s far too fragile. At this point, even the slightest bump on her hull from a submersible could be enough to cause significant damage

There are no ways to bring up the Titanic. Basically it is just a rust shell and any attempts to lift it would result in the structure crumpling into flakes, more or less just pieces of dust. Sadly, it is too far gone for any recovery.

You're right. After documenting the two naval vessels he was commissioned to do he was allowed to use the equipment to try and find the Titanic. It was like looking for a needle in a hay stack, but he did it.

I thought it for a long time too. If technology was progressed they would. Right now Titanic is over 100 years old and practically the metal on it is so rusted that it would not withstand the minerals in air if at all managed to bring it up 12000 feet above on ground. It should have been done few years after it sank but sadly no one even found it 50 years after it sank. So sadly Nothing remains on the Titanic but the metals which are basically of no use anymore.
