Abusers on an interpersonal level often forbid professional psychological intervention because their abuse is quickly identified and thwarted. You're right that Scientology weaponizes psychological abuse, including secrets/trauma they coax out of victims.

The house I am living in used to be occupied by a Scientologist adjacent person, used to get heaps of mail from them and advertisements for psyche tests. One day two ladies came round and inquired as to who I was, I told them I live here now, they then responded with some platitudes and told me I looked like a pretty smart guy. At this point a little scam bell started ringing in my head. So I responded, Yep I am a pretty super smart, and after a few other routine pleasantries they left. In my head they were looking for someone uncertain, they were looking for an exploit. They are not looking for a smartarse that will call out bullshit when they see it. These sort of cults will seek the vulnerable and the conflicted, they will ask for money and do what they can to keep you on the hook. I often see religious groups the same way but can excuse a lot of that if their heart is in the right place. Often they overstep as well. Scientology is not a religion.
