5:15 I'm not sure about that. I've seen Aurea variegated jade satin sell for $800+ per leaf. Also at 8:45, I've seen some discussion that SP treubii borneo is possibly officinalis. I have one of each and I'm in the process of growing them out to see if they show any differences given the same growing environments. They also look very similar to SP treubii Sumatra in the juvenile form. So it can be hard to tell between the 3 until you grow it out a bit. Also, 9:15. I see this one marketed a lot. It's actually not a scindapsus at all. It's Scaphochlamys Scintillans. A type of wild ginger. If you have a chance to look at the root structure of one, you can see leaves growing from bulb growth. As for Silver lady vs exotica, the silver lady leaf will be a lot more narrow, thicker, and typically have a brighter silver coloration. 10:57 Silver tattoo and silver cloud are very different varieties. Silver cloud looks like what you'd get if you were to cross a silver splash with a silver hero. Silver tattoo has very distinct mottling throughout the leaf. RE: silver hero vs platinum. Silver hero has a much more defined vein pattern throughout the leaf. Platinum also comes in multiple forms, but if you want an example of the true platinum form, mimashoppe has them on display. 14:51 That's actually a picture of anadendrum affine. Commonly confused with a true lucens. The lucens has more of a matte finish. And the anadendrum leaves have bolder vein patterns, as well as a much thinner leaf. Importers often mislabel them. Disclaimer, I am an admin of a Scindapsus collectors group on FB. I just want to clear up common misconceptions, as it can be hard to find good information out there.

Thank you so much for the detail information about scindapsus. I just bought one but it looked like the treubii dark form but its leaves are turning light green and they're becoming thicker compared to my silver satin. Keep up the good work for producing such an educational video! Stay safe as well! By the way, I've already subscribed to your channel. 🙂 Greetings from the Philippines! 🇵🇭🌻

Thanks for your video. I have 10 of the Scindapsus varieties. Some of the less common ones I have are the Silver Hero, Lucens, Treubii Moonlight, and the Treubii Dark Form. I love my big Exotica which was one of my first ones along with Argyraeus, Silver Splash, Silver Lady, Jade and the Silvery Anne.

This is a lovely video; thank you. What I’d like to know is if the finish of Treubii Moonlight leaves are like the pictus leaves (more velvety) or that the finish is glossy. (It’s hard to see in pictures and video’s). Thanks for replying in advance!

I just found a full pot of silver splash and a full pot of silvery Ann today for $15 each. They’re both trailing nicely already. The silvery Ann was labeled satin pothos and all the other pots of “satin pothos” were argeryas. Somehow a silvery Ann snuck in there. I’m pretty excited to add them to my collection for what seems like a good deal

Great videos, you put so much work into them! I have two dark ones, one label says dark "form" which I did myself when I got it. the other dark one I neglected to put a label on it, but it is dark, the only difference is that the leaves are narrow, so I have two dark ones but two different shaped leaves. Are they the same??

Thanks for the tips. Love your plants💚. Okay so I see you have your Scindapsus’ Pictus in plastic nursery pots and in Terracotta from your experience and opinion, what do you prefer to have your Scindapsus in- terracotta or plastic? Which do you gravitate more too? If you had to choose one which would it be?
@MyWastelessLife3 жыл бұрын
terra cotta although i hate watering so often, but i find that my scindapsus in plastic pots usually end up having root rot issues like my exotica right now. it did so well in terra cotta and not anymore after i repotted it in plastic. but if you can be careful with watering, then plastic pots might work out for you.

If you look at the one being sold on peace love & happiness club the scindapsus tattoo is way different then a silver cloud and are sold at a higher price. I did order from Thailand the tattoo to compare. I also ordered the scindapsus pictus hassk which is beautiful. I’m hoping they come in good condition. 🙏🏼 after acclimation I will be selling a few. Three years ago I did order the s.p. Treubii moonlight and I agree with you on the leaf shape. Compare to Costa Farm the leaf shape is totally different. Mine from Thailand is also round and To be honest I like them round. Please make more videos on scindapsus. I’m trying to build up my collection.

I recently got a silver splash. But the more I look at it, I feel like it may have been mis-labeled at the nursery. The leaves are huge on it so I’m wondering if it’s an exotica vs silver splash… can you help provide info on how to really compare and distinguish the two?
@GrantGreetings3 жыл бұрын
I ordered a huge trailing Exotica (My fourth one) from the same seller and ended up with a beautiful Scindapsus that I have no clue what it is. It's not an Exotica but has the huge leaves, but they are very pixelated with a shiny glittery sheen in the light. Maybe you could help me figure out what it is.

@@MyWastelessLife No it was this video. I've looked at the images in the research by Bogner and Boyce and this doesn't look like that plant, in my opinion. I've also ordered the one like you have in your video, and it did not handle shipping and never recovered -- but its leaves were much more fragile than all the other Scindapsus I've seen, which made me wonder if it was the correct plant at all. It looks like what you find when you google Anedendron affine to me? So I guess the identification of S. lucens is still something I still have questions about.
