Scion xB: How To Install Hood Struts

Nice xB! I have the same color. You can pop out the plastic inserts in the front bumper cover and put in fog lights for about $50 bucks, plus maybe another $10 for the relay. Everything is pre-wired at the factory so it's super easy. I don't really use mine, but it sure makes the front end look nicer.

Just had my hood struts installed works great!

Broke the hood lift and plastics, installed these... used your video as a reference. Perfect all the way around. I have a question though, did your hood not line up after installing this? I had that issue and only that and looks kind of... off. It's a daily and the previous owner I believe had an accident so I'm thinking I'm seeing remnants of that with the force that it tries keeping open. I tried reseating this two or three different times with similar results. I'm going to ignore it for the time being unless it starts whistling or becoming a significant issue. The only downside is popping the hood feels a bit rougher than usual. I go under the hood once a week as ... well, it's a Toyota... it burns oil. 🙃 Edit: At around 14:14 I can kind of see that it doesn't quite match up and looks a bit similar to my results as well. You can also feel there's a bit of a gap too. It feels blah but if this is the way it is I can ignore it, I suppose.
