I'd love to see a counterpart Form Fight between Scyther and Scizor, since they're the only pokemon that keeps the same stats upon evolution. Even though my favorite, Scyther, does lose out on typing. I wish it was Bug/Dragon!

I mean, you could use Choice Band on Scizor to make it's attack higher than Mega Scizor and still have that Mega Slot saved for someone else. Also Knock Off doesn't get Technician Boost.

For me personally design wise scizor wins by a miles, mega scizor's claws are so fooking bbdumb and the black armour decals are cool I guess but are unneeded overdesign. Mega scizor should of had scyther like blades IMO. Mega scizor will almost always beat regular scizor in the mirror match because it has 10 more base speed and more def but over all they're fairly equal because a banded/life orb regular scizor hits harder than mega scizor and bullet punch is life orb/banded scizor's bread and butter so speed isn't as big a deal as it would be otherwise but most importantly why waste your mega evolution on a pokemon that is barely better, if it all as a mega evolution. TL:DR use regular scizor wirh a life orb and save your mega evolution for something else, if your team has no other potential mega evolution then sure use mega scizor I guess.

I prefer Regular scizor a lot more for it looking MUCH better than the mega (the mega still looks awesome) AND I would prefer regular scizor in battle for it to use another item, for example Choice band, Choice Scarf, Life orb, Occa berry, the versatility in regular Scizor I find much better than the mega

you once mention to me on twitch that you wouldnt do scizor vs scyther because on is the evolution of the other but you can do a "special" form fight, lol. they both has the same total base stats, with different type and scizor beeing able to mega evolve while scyther is able to use eviolite making both useable on competitive battles with lots of diferences. I like them both equally. But they're the only two form differences that are both used in the same competitive tier, since Scizor has ran Choice Band very commonly in the past, while Mega Scizor is just Mega. So, it just depends on the team.

I prefer their pre-evolution Scyther, it is aesthetically far more appealing - blades are far more elegant than pincers. Further, the stat benefits of evolving a Scyther don't seem worth it to me; at base 110 Scyther already has a respectable enough attack stat, and - while the defense boost is nice - it really could have used that boost elsewhere. The loss in speed is the worst part though, Scyther's decent base 105 speed is reduced to base 65, which fundamentally changes the Pokemon's play-style and lessens its viability in battle - it is not longer able to use speed to get at least one hit in before switching out, instead it has to trust its defenses to let it take the first hit - which is an issue as its special defense isn't particularly good. Also the metal coat, the item required to evolve it, can be hard to come by, which means I prefer to stick with Scyther out of pure convenience

I love Scizor, but mega Scizor does have some appeal. I think it look likes a centai warrior, like Ultraman, or what the power rangers are based off of. I think visually though, I still prefer Scizor. And those shinies aren't too bad, especially because they match Scyther's color, making it seem like it's still part of the same family.
