Is it genetics or tension? If you pull your hair back in ponytails a lot or do tight braids you lose your edges, but if you've never had edges and like your mom and GMA and sisters also don't have edges, you will just never have them, because you can't change your genetic traits (without surgery).

So baso for the girl on the thumbnail you use: -any leave in conditioner - S curl wave and activator - (And most importantly) Eco gel styler First (put hair in 4 sections and comb b4 if you can), use the leave in conditioner, then you put the S curl wave and activator so the curls can pop a little then Eco styler after adding s curl. Style edges as desired then wait for it to dry (it'll take a long time cause the hair is so moisturised and soft). Then voila! Bomb hair. Hope this helped lol

My 4C hair doesn't curl I washed it and put in leaving conditioner I put Eggo styling gel on it it doesn't curl up like that doesn't have a wave or nothing still look like 4 C hair I even used Aunt Jackie's ice curls I don't know my hair do not curl up and wave the way it do when I see people in the videos what do you think the problem is? might as well get a texturizer for my hair maybe that'll make it curl after I put the eco styling gel on it I really don't want to put any chemicals in my hair

Nooo don't texturise. I have the same hair texture. Our hair doesn't curl, it is coily- which is a beautiful type of texture in itself. I find that my hair "curls" it gets more coily when it is well conditioned and moisturised. So for coils, Bantu knots, twists outs usually works well for hair texture like yours. Please don't texturise, although I have to say it is one of the more difficult hair types to work with, so you know what, do what makes you happy actually 🤣 but don't let different curl patterns push you to texturise basically. Ooh also, when I wash my hair with clay, rhassoul clay, my coils be popping. But moisture is your bestie really
