I would like to clarify the origin of this print. This print came from South Africa. Viacom handled distribution rights overseas for programs like this one, hence why their logo is present.

I remember when WPIX-TV (channel 11) ran “Josie and the Pussycats” and “Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space”, it had the Viacom “Pinball” logo at the end, but on “Scooby-Doo Where Are You?” and other Scooby-Doo spinoffs, it doesn’t have that at the end, but it got plastered by the HB “Swirling Star” logo since it went into syndication in 1980.

I also use DaVinci Resolve (But for YTPs)! It still feels weird seeing Viacom at the end of Scooby-Doo LOL!😆

Well, this was shortly before Taft bought Worldvision (the syndication company, _not_ the religious and charitable organization).

@@johnnyballenatlAnd then, Scooby-Doo went into syndication in 1980 when DFS Program Exchange acquired the distribution rights for this and the spinoffs “The New Scooby-Doo Movies” as a 2-parter, and “The Scooby-Doo Show” which was part of the “Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour” with just the Scooby episodes.

rare moment of viacom secretly syndicately distributing hb shows

Not for long. Viacom distributed “Josie and the Pussycats” and “Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space” back in the 1970’s when WPIX-TV (channel 11) ran it since it was in syndication. DFS Program Exchange picked up the syndication rights to “Scooby-Doo” and started airing it in 1980.

@@Musicradio77NetworkProgram Exchange got the syndication rights to the pre-Scrappy-Doo shows (Where Are You, Scooby Movies, Scooby-Dynomutt Hour, Scooby’s All Star Laff-A-Lympics/Scooby’s All Stars).

Didn't know that Viacom used to distributed some H-B shows overseas...

Ey yo, Viacom distributed Scooby-Doo?! :o

In the foreign markets, before Taft bought Worldvision (formerly ABC Films, then after several sales and mergers, now a part of Paramount). Scooby was finally syndicated in the US starting in 1980 on a barter basis, while the show still aired on ABC as Scooby and Scrappy Doo.

Just for a short period until DFS Program Exchange acquired the distribution rights to “Scooby-Doo” and went into syndication in 1980. WPIX-TV (channel 11) was the one that carried this show. In addition, they removed the “Zooming HB” and “Red HB” logos and replaced by the “Swirling Star” logo.

Yeah Viacom had syndication rights to Hanna Barbera shows in the 70s (except for those by Screen Gems as Columbia would keep the rights until the mid 80s), which were later taken by Worldvision in the 80's

The coloring on this almost in a way resembles how the 2004 remastered version of the episode looked like witch is crazy because this is obviously an older print srouced from 16 millimeter print of the episode

Do you have a Season 2 opening with the Viacom pinball?
