Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster Next Generation at Movie World Gold Coast! Warner Bros. Movie World is a Theme Park on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia!
Here is some off ride footage of the attraction, showing the outside, queue line, station, exit, Gift Shop & more! This was filmed a couple days before the ride closed for its major renovation.
This is the world famous Scooby Doo Roller Coaster, a fantastic Mack Wild Maus with a themed dark ride / ghost train-style section beginning, before it goes up a lift to to the iconic laser room, which is the main Roller Coaster section of the ride.
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster is themed to the cult classic Scooby Doo (2002) live action film. The movie was filmed in Australia next door to Movie World at the Village Roadshow Studios; it even uses some real props from the movie!
Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster closed on 27th January 2023 for a large, multi year refurbishment. The ride will be receiving a partial re-tracking, new trains, and other tweaks -hopefully some new theming too, and the removal of the ill-received Next Generation upgrade!

Here's some footage from the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster! This was filmed a couple of days before the ride closed in January 2023. The ride is due to reopen sometime in 2025 - hopefully better than ever, as it was in quite poor condition when this was filmed.

They better make it like the old school one, without all the technology and screens. Truly a great ride and it captures the Spooky Island coaster from the movie so well! Would be a shame if it turned into a Next Gen #2.

Agreed, here's hoping they've learned from their mistakes - Next Gen truly was awful. Saying that, I wouldn't mind a couple of screens if they did it in a similar way to Leviathan's station

Can't believe we still have (most likely) over a year to go until its reopening. 2025 will definately be peak Movie World! Something pretty serious must've happened to the ride for them to've closed it in the way they did, guess we'll never know. Looking forward to its reopening! But when this reopens I reckon something will be announced about Superman Escape 😢.

Movie World next year is going to be great - hopefully! I have a feeling Scooby will open later in the year then earlier - by Summer, for sure! Here's hoping Superman Escape is kept open in its current form for as long as possible!

I am still sad this ride was down when we did an Australia Amusement Park trip in 2019...will have to wait till this is back and the Wizard of Oz area is done and hopefully...everything will be up when we go back...have a lot of new rides to look forward to next time like Leviathan at Sea World and others.

That's a shame you missed it! It was pretty unreliable at that point, which is partially why it closed in the first place. You'll have so much new stuff to check out on your next visit, not to mention at Dreamworld!

Nah I think it will open, from what I've heard Mack rides is currently doing the new track and cars over in Germany. We should see some noticeable progress later this year if all goes well
