Id rather hear the original 8bit followed by original compositions in the opening, followed by cinematic renditions of the game themes through out the movie, then have the final victory end with the orchestra Mario theme. then have walk the dinosaur in the end credits.

I always loved Alan Silvestri's 12-note leitmotif for the film. If I ever had any control over a Mario Bros movie and its music, I'd ask the composer to work it in to their composition once as a Easter egg, paying respect to the original film.
