Bravo on the scoop... Loved ALL your tips... and especially liked the M6 bolts... did you have 2 back-up nuts at the end of the bolt to lock in the bolt to the jaws... That also looks like a longer bolt that a 1"???... This was a very informative vid... THANKS

The jaws are already threaded so these should act just like the normal screws used to attach the various jaws to the chuck. I don't believe there would be any access to the rear to use nuts if you even wanted to. Personally I never knew what size bolt fit the chucks having depended on the manufacturer to supply them. Pete said that these were 55 mm long for a 2.5" sphere. Naturally longer or shorter could be used for other size scoops.

Thanks for the kind words. I calculated the M6 x 1 bolts so they would bottom out down into the chuck jaws, but still be long enough to clamp the scoop just past the centerline of the sphere. I added one nut on each to sort of stiffen them up some. Those lessened the amount of flex each bolt had when I tightened them down on the scoop. FYI: M6 x 1 is the metric thread size, with "1" being the thread pitch. The bolts were 55mm long.

Another good video. Say, you all can replace those fractions and high price tools by just tooling thin enough by using your thumb and forefinger. We just turning coffee scoops here. Not rocket science.

Thanks. The goal is to try and create a perfect sphere. Not everyone, even me with 30+ years of turning experience can just eyeball one. Everybody turns differently.
