But how's that relevant? Most of the music produced all across the world has only 4 chords. From Beatles, all the way to Ed Sheeran and everyone in between has done 4 chord songs. Does that mean they do not deserve what they have achieved? Making a composition overly complex doesn't guarantee anything. It has to appealing. It has to convey the emotions. You can definitely argue with me with bands like Polyphia, Animals as Leaders or the OP Dream Theater. But that's not mainstream music and those just appeal to a certain group of people. So there's no point in looking down at him. And please don't say I am comparing him with Beatles.
