The election strategy that Akhilesh Yadav had revealed in an interview with JIST News has paid rich dividends. The Samajwadi Party and Congress together got 43 seats in the Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh had promised that his party would successfully transfer its votes in Uttar Pradesh to the Congress on the 17 seats that the national party was contesting in the state. Akhilesh Yadav had said that while the BJP relies on private election management companies to set the narrative, the Samajwadi Party is rooted in traditional politics with a strong organisation on the ground.
