@@mallorcalee How does this not violate copyright? The only way I can think that it wouldn't is based on a technicality or royalty deal. If the label owned the rights and chose to allow them to be plagiarized by another of their own artists or the other artist agreed to pay royalties for their use. Otherwise the plagiarism would be illegal wouldn't it?

Scooter have been doing this stuff for their entire career. I suppose they look at it as references or simple "nods" to various artists more than outright stealing. They are big fans of the klf, and sample and "steal" from them all the time. They did make some great original instrumentals back in the day if nothing else.

Scooter was just a (poor) German copy of Ultra-Sonic, as stated by both themselves. Was covered in M8 magazine interviews in 1990s. Scooter said they heard German-based Scottish squaddies playing Scottish rave tapes and looked to make that sound. Ultra-Sonic also said Scooter's Move Your Ass was a copy of their own Check Your Head (note similarity in title).

Yep great buildup on that one, US were one of my favs, Scooter was always a bit cringy for me especially the MC but they could produce and did do some ok tunes and remixes in fairness

Yep had all those, ultimate buzz also, no one quite as good as US imo though! Obsession was a masterpiece too. Also always loved the way annihilating rhythm buckled the bass bins in the club lol
