Hi, love your work and the approach you have towards people and how you teach us about scooters and scooter tuning. Learned a lot from you and will soon get a Polini pod filter and a Stage6 sport pro variator for my Gilera Runner 70cc.

Idea for Part 2 of this video, you should talk about carb usage when you put stuffers in, if you have too much air you need to increase main jet but without any large benefits in performance, in my experience for example 17.5mm Dellorto phva works best with 19mm air inlet on third airbox, without restriction in cover, so carb diameter + ~10% , that way you get the most out of carb, great video as always 💪

Great idea! Based on the popularity of this video we may focus on themes with tips on certain parts of the engine that are not usually duscussed.

As usual great advice dealing with an installation that is rarely shown on KZbin. Maybe you could add an additional bit of information about using actual sponge filters sold by people like Malossi which have standard factory types made of two types of foam and ones they sell which are just one type of foam that are more free flowing. Cheers Kevin

This is a great idea👍. With the popular response of this video we may focus on simple themes where we show the detail of these tips.

It funny. I've owned a few aerox, jog RR, a BWS, and a slider. All Minarelli based engines. I've never seen a tube going to the CVT transmission. It would be a great idea as it gets very hot. There is a rubber bung on the side. I now now what it's for. It must just be for countries where the temperature is higher than in the UK. Every day is a school day. 👍

Hey boss what do you think of the malossi double layer red sponge (for piaggio tph) , any differences from the classic red sponge? Very informative video that you never see but so useful. Waiting for the next one 💪💪

Enjoyed the video, but I wish if you are going to show us how to install the stuffers and increasing the fuel ratio is an important step, How do I do that?
@scooterstreetau7 күн бұрын
Thank you! Yes we are going to do exactly that on the Shop Zip Scooter due late Feb-March. We will show you where and how we fit the stuffer and the jetting of the carby.

Hello! I have seen that the carburetor of the Piaggio Zip SP (Dellorto 17.5) has a restrictor metal sheet at the air intake. Do you recommend removing it? Is there a noticeable difference? Would i need to adjust the carburetor? Thank you!!!

Yes watch our Zip Playlist for the video on this diffuser.

One of the main reason to avoid pod-filters for me is the intake noise. So when one adds holes to the airbox via these stuffers, how bad does it effect the sound?
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
Yes so true, we mention in the Pod filter video. Stuffers add minimal noise increase.

@scooterstreetau i wanted to upgrade my piaggio scooter with a Yasuni R, Malossi Sport 70cc, Malossi MHR RHQ and the Overrange CVT Kit with Malossi Fly clutch system and get a bigger main jet for my stock 17,5mm carb. My Two Questions are: Can i run a malossi crank with the stage6/SKF bearings and oil seals? And Also do you think this build is good for everyday use and decent for racing?
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
All sounds really good, well done! I would use a Polini adjustable clutch in place of FLY. Yes to the Bearing seal question. Good street set up, for more upgrade the Cylinder the carby and concentrate on tuning that transmission.

Hey Bro! this is the channel I am lokking for for long time i have aprilia sr50 and i have watched some of your videos just respoect for patience and showing the people how to do work on this scooters! I have bought malossi red sponge and installed in the airbox of my Aprilia sr50r and sometimes when i throttle to max and fast let go and fast throttle back it wont respoonde and after i do that again it responds. i have installed some performance parts in cvt and jetted the carb... and before the filter this problem was sometimes happening... can you help me with this throttle issue? Thanks!
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
We have been waiting for you to show up! where the hell have you been😆 You may be getting a huge rush of air when returning to the throttle. Diagnose first by restricting air in to air box or increasing fuel in. Final fix could be limiting air, pilot jet or size up on main.
@Ice-T.Ай бұрын
Try to find big triangle airbox from old Gilera Runner 50 carb, Runner 50 Purejet or Piaggio NRG MC2, this is the best airbox for Hiper2 engine, inlet hole is 19mm, you can bore it to 25mm(for bigger carbs), you don't need to drill adittional holes for stuffers, no restrictions inside, it's quiet and filtration is great, i have it on my '09 Runner
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
Yes but difficult to find, so can use the SR50R Piag Air box, larger volume.
@Stein-c8qАй бұрын
You also remove that `"tube" inside the clean side of the sr50r airbox?
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
Yes, this can be done again allowing more air entry.

Hi @Scooter Street! I recently got a brand new Yasuni R for my Aprilia Sr50 r 2019 model and after puting the exhaust together the last two long mounting bolts that hold the bracket came up short and wouldn't screw well enough. I was just thinking about getting some longer bolts and my question has this happened ever to you guys and if yes how can i fix it? (should I get longer bolts or something else)
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
We haven't had this issue before, but longer bolts should sort it out. Use the OEM bolts if necessary.
@VilkosАй бұрын
@@scooterstreetau I tried the OEM bolts but it wasn't working. I'll try some longer bolts once get them and I'll tell you if it works. Thanks for replying so fast btw.

Hi there! i wanted to ask a expert for some advice on my first project build. so i have a piaggio old zip and i have bought some parts for it a 70cc malossi sport, a polini cp 19mm carb and a stage 6 variator and i have a polini team 4 exhaust but i still want to buy a stage 6 mk2 manifold a malossi MHR RHQ crank and a clutch but i dont know witch one to get a stage 6 mk2 one or a polini 3g. i just wanted to hear some feed back from a expert if im going the right way or i need to switch something.
@AngerfistersАй бұрын
Just get polini 3g or a malossi flyclutch ive personally always loved malossi flyclutch to my minarelli engine
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
Thanks for the respect bro👍no experts here just scooter lovers. We love the Polini clutch, but the stage 6 allows adjustment if you also use the matching Bell. The ability to adjust the clutch spring without removing the bell and clutch is ingenious.

Hey i have a question, i have a old 1994 piaggio zip and i want to buy a performance variator for it, the problem is i see two versions, one before 1998 one after. One has a dome on the variator plate one doesn't. Are they interchangable? As far as i know they are the exact same engine so it doesn't make sense how there is a need for two versions.
@lorenzoarestia9092Ай бұрын
Get the One With same hole size and built in blades
@scooterstreetauАй бұрын
Yes, use the variator for your year model.

@@CokieZip Malossi or Polini.
@CokieZipАй бұрын
@@scooterstreetau malossi has only multivar 2000 and polini discontinued the old version, could you perhaps measure the spacer behind the variator on your zip? I believe that is the only difference between them. Mine is 16mm wide.

hi can i ask you a very quick question my speed fight 3 is a little weird it goes up to high rpm when going slow (like 7.5-8k) then it starts droping around 50 kmh and when it reaches it it will stop accelarating quickly it will slow down then after it reaches 55kmh (it takes like 20 seconds to speed up 5kmh) then it will start acclerating quickly to 85-90 kmh i cant think of a solution pls help thank you very much if you respond❤

@420-p8lАй бұрын
@Eero42 he literally said they’re a pain to tune , they should only be used on racing builds when the bike bottlenecks & physically needs more air to perform how it should
