You would not believe how many times they missed small details when you find yourself rewatching clone wars. Sometimes the Kama skirt on Rex and Fives would disappear, Cody’s badge on his armor disappears for a few seconds. As for the sniper CX clone. Let it go, they were all clearly just ordinary clones are who were augmented by Hemlock. Yes commando armor is extremely durable. But cmon, 5 or six shots plus a fall from that high. You’ll die on that mountain face before the empire ‘finally finds you’ that is if they even try at all. However the overkill on Hemlock was definitely not what I expected, but at least they made sure he was dead. Also, 5 or 6 shots to the chest but with no armor while also falling.

I do think Scorch is probably dead, just because narratively it doesn't make much sense for him to be alive, but logically we've seen commandos survive some truly wild stuff. Gregor got blown up, Wrecker has been shot like a billion times over his career, Hunter fell off a mountain (and his armor isn't as thick as standard Katarn). Hell, _most_ commandos that we've seen get taken down on screen were just stunned or incapacitated, only a handful have actually been killed. And at least one commando seems to have survived exactly what happened to Scorch, getting shot a bunch and then falling, so...

Lot of great valid points, and you are correct about the narrative part, but I just think they used the wrong character for that scene and only realized during post production so they had to sneak his return in. For the best narrative death, it should have been CX-2 who gets shot and goes over, but they already killed him off right before, so the other option would have been to just stun Scorch and not have him fall off. Maybe even abduct him for Rex and crew to extract information from since Scorch was the real Commander of the entire Tantiss base. But oh well, I'm just glad they snuck him into the ending scenes during Tarkin's arrival

@@brendangamble1206 I'm almost 100% certain that Scorch's presence in the wide shot before the Tarkin scene was an error, since him being there makes no sense no matter how you look at it. Narratively, why "kill" him just to bring him back the next scene and then not address his "death" in any way? Him being in that one wide shot is just confusing, it doesn't add anything to the show in any way. And similarly, within the logic of the world, Scorch being on-duty with Tarkin (who did not trust Hemlock and by extension almost certainly didn't trust the commander who served him) mere hours after Hemlock's death, instead of either giving a testimony on what happened and/or recovering from his wounds, just doesn't make sense. Those, combined with the fact that the wide shot is like two seconds long, it's hard to make out details when everyone is super far away, and that there might be two of him (one standing on debris near the center of the frame and another in the bottom right), neither of whom move at all, seem to indicate that he was either a placeholder for some other model that was overlooked or that he was never supposed to be there at all. TL;DR: That almost certainly wasn't Scorch in that wide shot, for a multitude of reasons.

@@ClonedGamer001 I'm rewatching the scenes as we are talking about this, you are absolutely correct, I did not see the left and right ones! Thank you for mentioning that wide shot! I think you may right about the placeholder too. They probably were supposed to be the Imperial Royal Guard variants but someone made a mistake in the studio. However, I still think Scorch would have survived the incident. Commandos really do survive a lot of punishment, thanks to their armour. He's probably in a medical bay by the orders of Admiral Thrawn since Thrawn didn't disregard clones in the ways that the other high ranking Imperials did. I mean, he even has Commander Gree's helmet in his personal art collection. That says a lot about Thrawn's views on clones. Since Scorch was Commander of Tantiss, which Thrawn would eventually take control of, due to the Project Necromancer reference in the Season 3 Mandalorian show, I believe Thrawn would do his best to keep Scorch alive and with him at all times, since all other top members of Tantiss are now dead.

Scorch absolutely survived, if you dive more into the lore about Katarn-class clone commando armour, you'll find they can definitely survive falls like that and even three direct shots from a blaster carbine won't kill a commando unless it's headshots. Hunter survived a crazy ass fall and his armour wasn't even a full blown set of Katarn armour, Gregor survived a massive explosion (yes, he did get brain damage but I'm sure anyone would from an explosion of that scale). So, long story short, yes, Scorch IS alive and well, aside from bruises and possible light concussion.

There’s a difference between 2 commandos given plot armor and being main characters and a literal background character with 0 development. If Disney or Lucasfilm can’t even decide on how strong a lightsaber is, they probably can’t for Katarn armor. Actually, the Wookieepedia page doesn’t even state how strong it is in the Canon page. It’s almost as if they’re saying it’s as strong as regular armor. The only lore we really have on Katarn armor is what we’ve seen in Canon (not legends lmao) yeah sure, Hunter survived a fall, but he’s literally the main character or one of the main characters. The amount of plot armor he has is basically unlimited. Gregor is kind of the same except that he’s basically as good as an entire squadron of clones combined together. That’s how good he is.

I only noticed the centre one and in the following scenes the Imperial Royal Guard variants (they are walking around here and there with the TK Troopers amongst the debris). So the correction is yes there are 3 Scorch commandos, which is definitely an error that somebody made at the studio.

I thought he would survive too. Not familiar with the commando lore but... Clone Commando armor, I would assume it to be quite thick. Sure, 3 blaster shots hurts a ton but I bet that the fall chooses whether he lives or dies, not some lil blaster shots.

Once I found out Scorch was at the aftermath of Tantiss I was so happy after being a little pissed there are also other Scorch's in the scene but animation error or not there is a Scorch there, Even if there are four of them. Guess he's a copy of a copy of a copy.

Katarn class commando armor (wirh backpacl on!!!!) Was capable of takingmultiple blaster shots along with heavy machine series, we could debate whether the hole is throughout his body but trees can easily save scorch. I personally think that the finale is actually quite good. A few things like scorch's death, unidentified cx clones and no sight of rex, cody, howzer bothered me a lot though. I think for rex and howzer having so much screentime, it's very disappointing that they weren't part of the rescue of the clones from tantus.

I'm mad that Scorch died, but this was hilarious. 😂 Also, that's definitely an animation error. The same thing happened with Commander Havoc at the end of The Clone Wars, Season 3, Episode 2, "ARC Troopers." Havoc can be seen standing out on the landing pads after the Battle of Kamino was over, even though he died earlier in the episode.

He was screaming as he fell so the blaster bolts didn't kill him, at least not immediately, and if they didn't kill him immediately the bacta injector would have kicked in. So the question is, how did he survive the fall? I hope he lives though.
