Sooooo....apparently you can crash a Veritech THROUGH a couple of buildings, and it's fine, but you can't step on it anywhere, or you'll break it. :-D

I really don't know why there is such a block in terms of buying either macross or robotech...just buy online from Japan if you want the macross versions...thankfully here in Ireland we can get both equally as that whole harmony gold nonsense doesn't apply here...as a side note any word on when the 1/72 scale transforming Roy fokker vf-1s action figure from kitz concept is coming out.
@hanzohattori24926 жыл бұрын
I think you are slightly wrong when you say macross toys are not available outside of Japan...that ONLY applies to America as it's only America that harmony gold have a grip on..macross toys and models ARE available all over the world outside of America...not ONLY have I bought macross toys and models over the counter here in Ireland but have also done so when abroad in England...and yes I do think that you won't get robotech versions in Japan.

@@hanzohattori2492 Any retailer not big enough to show up on HG's radar can do as they please without fear of a C&D. It's unclear if HG even has enough fuel left in the tank to keep sending out the C&Ds or they might only have the bandwidth to restrict USA sales but their rights do cover everything outside of Japan (for now at least).

@@ScorchedEarthToys and that's my whole piont...even from the start macross items have ALWAYS been available here in Ireland.harmony gold NEVER had a grip on anywhere outside of the u.s...if they did they would have clamped down on the worldwide sales of the transformers jetfire toy but they couldn't...it seems to be a trap that you American and Canadian reviewers fall into when you think just because a toy line or figure is NOT available in your country that you automatically think it's not available ANYWHERE other than Japan which is nonsense. ..

I love these Arcadia’s they are so satisfying to transform

I'm pretty late to the party... But I own *tons* of these Yamato and Arcadia VF-1 toys... And I've never had to remove or disconnect any super parts for transformation to any mode. In fact, doing so doesn't even add l any difficulty. It's seamless. Yamato was ahead of their time with this toy and it still holds up even more than a decade later. I'd say the only parts that aren't great are the hands aren't super strong but overall it's such a small issue. I bought the original Bandai DX 1/60 and I hated and immediately sold it. The nosecone was constantly opening with minor handling. Even with extended effort, the legs would just immediately pop off during transformation... And watching some reviews on this channel, I see the toy doesn't hold together well especially with the super parts. Sounds like Bandai fixed the nosecone issue which is great n if they fix the other 2, I'd totally be onboard for all subsequent Bandai releases... Th Bandai DX toys look absolutely amazing with all the tampo and I can see why others enjoy them. Just not for me. But if this hypothetical situation occurs, I'm keeping my Yamato/Arcadia collection and would buy more ifthey release anything else in that line that I'd be interested in (which could be hard since I own every version I care about, which is definitely over ten even if you exclude the cases where I have duplicates).

I found a toy similar to this ... from an "alternatively distributed" source. Kinda like from the V_______ "Factory", ya know? It looks like someone picked a Yamato version 2.1 of the assembly line and added some of the Arkadia paint apps. My transforming mecha toy is a little loose in the hips and gerwalk jonts, surprisingly. Just an observation that sometimes when we buy on the secondary market or from non standard sources, we help create some downward pressure on market prices ( which Bandai and Arcadia help keep fairly higher than needed ). Looking forward to more fun and neat videos, hopefully sooner than later from ScorchedEarthToys ! Keep up these ever improving video reference guides to our favorite genre toys, micronian (:

Nice review. I have original v1 and 1/48 versions. Broke down on the 1/60 perm version last month, and your right there nice but the price is a little out there. They could of thrown in a cheap stand for the price to display your toy like Bandai.

Thanks again for your review, I was looking to purchase a Arcadia Vf-1s Roy Folker movie or tv version. I think I'll take your advice and wait to see what Bandai releases. I used to own a couple of their 1/100 Hi-metal toys and then discovered Yamato macross 1/60. Subbed

Did Arcadia widen the gap on the nosecone/hip transformation flap? Or did Yamato do that at some point? Only Yamato I had was a v2 Hikaru. Have Arcadia Roy, Max and Millia, and that part is different. A little more clearance so it goes over the hinge instead of having to fish it through.

The 'crotch lock' (as I call it) was updated early by Yamato. It's the difference between version 2.0 and 2.1 on this list: anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Yamato-Arcadia-VF-1-Releases-4K-1.jpg

Do the hip joints on the Yamato/Arcadia toys hold up pretty well over time with use or do they get pretty loose?

They hold up very well. I've owned a lot of these toys and have never had a problem with loose hips.

So in the premium finish, the back pack does not come with screw covers? I think those mess with the whole point of having screw covers

It's curious to me that Macross fans will essentially buy the same toy over and over again. I know because I did it for a few years before I sold my collection. It kind of plays on a collectors need to have a "perfect" piece, even if the reason is economic or legal. I guess my main thing is that this mold is literally over a decade old at this point. For these new price points a newly engineered and improved piece seems to be needed. Also, I can say the premium finish doesn't add much to the overall look.
