I love these little rotary engines. They remind me of two strokes, smokey, loud and fast!!

We built a starlet with YB power and T5 box for the strip, it punched well above its weight and at York it was only beaten by a 60k E46 m3 and a xkr8

Don't tell anyone but it's a joke. I refer to any useless Japanese car as "Datsuns". "Hey, honey! See that Datsun broke down on the interstate?" I'll tell my wife when seeing any anemic, generic Japanese car on the side of the road, hood up and steam billowing, which occurs a lot! Dinky (pun intended) little cars aren't built for us sizable American people. You should have known.

Haha fair enough :D Datsun can actually be understood as "Datt sund", Norwegian slang for "Fell apart" :D

victoryredcolorado Not bad for a Datsun. Not bad at all, kid! However, I'd spring for a tune-up kit. Just before launch, it crapped out like mad indicating possible fouled spark plugs and burnt ignition points. Might want to check piston ring sealing with a leak-down test. If questionable, bore the cylinders 010 over. Good luck.

@FlexyWrexy8 жыл бұрын
Technically speaking, they're equivalent to a 3.9L piston engine.
@FlexyWrexy7 жыл бұрын
Jiren Mudaly it's not a non-sensical theory champ. There are write-ups on it. Each bowl/compression chamber/face of the rotor is roughly 650cc's. Each rotor has 3 faces. A 13B is a two rotor engine. The only reason they call it a 1.3L is because they only take into account one face from each rotor. A rotary engine completes 2 combustion cycles per 360 degree rotation of it's eccentric shaft. 4 cycles at 720° and 6 at 1080°. Therefore, and this is simple math at this point... 650cc's x 6 = 3900cc's of actual displacement. Can also be shown as; 650cc per face. 3 faces per rotor. 2 rotors. 650 x 2 x 3 = 3900. Thats putting it as simply as i can. If you want the proper formulas using the degrees of rotation in equivalence to a piston engine, i suggest you google it. Hint: There is 720° of rotation. So just FYI... There is a technical equivalent. Just saying.
