Thanks for this. I need to try it out. All my headers go wide. I didn't realise the semi assisted for normal shooting vs manual for headers. Headers aiming will then be similar to power shots. Aim for the keeper and then just before you connect, go slightly to either side.

Learn when and what you should press. I lose every header in the box, dosent matter if is is com or a player.

Select your tallest player and have him on the pen spot ready to move to the ball once his close to the ball spam the circle button to clear the ball, or hold it to climb higher snd head the ball clear! Headers from corners is broken if you use the player lock. So only way to defend it is watch opponents players carefully snd make sure your defender is in front of him as you will NOT win a ball from behind a attacker

You can defend a header. It’s the biycycle kick you have to worry about. You literally can’t defend it

You fail to mention the importance of the RT/R2 button when it comes to the jumping side of things but I guess it's a good thing or more people would know than I'd personally like given headers are broken asf

Are you powering them up as youre about to make contact with the ball? The timing is the one thing I’m struggling with right now, have been pressing L2/R2 and seeing improvements tho

@@AGrassy29 yes power up to about 2-3 bars then hit RT/R2 just before you make contact with the ball and you'll make a early jump which is pretty effective when you get used to using it

How do you time the headers? I have a big striker but for some reason have trouble winning the battle for the ball. Do you power the shot when the ball is near the head of the player, do you power it as soon as the cross is coming in, somewhere in between or does it not matter? Im really struggling with this.

this might be the same problem I have. I go in front of the defender but one of the other defenders always jumps in front of me in the last second. when I watch these tutorial videos it looks like the defenders are not even trying. they are just kind of standing there. 2:39 is a good example. no way my player is even touching that ball

I'm strugling with headers and have the same questions. My main problem is that most of the times my players weren't even jumping. I spent some time in the skill drills and just found out that my player was jumping when I was letting go the left stick while the ball was approaching the player. From the start: I push the ls and power up the header just as the corner is played, around the time the ball is in the apex I let go the ls and my player jumps and then another ls push to aim, but also for how the player puts his head on the ball. I found these myself experimenting for 15 minutes, I'm not sure they are 100% accurate, but seem to work.

I can actually score headers now. lets say 3 out of 10 which is ok. its not that even in real life players score from every corner kick. this is what I do. I kick the ball, then hold LT/L2 and move my player in position and then I aim and just tap the shoot button. I heard multiple times how the more you power up the shoot button, the higher your player will jump. whatever. my ball just went high over the goal every time. now I just tap the shoot button and it goes straight into goal.

You can do downward headers by double tapping shoot like a normal shot

I got fifa 23 recently and discovered its impossible to defend against corners and headers against the AI. what the fuck is wrong with it? i conceded 4 goals from corners and headers and the defenders do absoluitely nothing to stop them they just stand there. what the fuck is going on? is there actually a way to deal with it?
