Many thanks Mar, great refresher, I used to be the first team scorer at school many decades ago and recently got co-opted into scoring for the village match and had to dig deep into the old grey matter to remember how I used to do it.

Thank you very much for explaining all that very carefully, I followed along and actually understood it all! I didn't realise how detailed a score book needed to be.
Thanks this really helped my daughter learn! Thanks mate x

Hi Mark, great video. can you do another video describing the no-balls against the bowler and also how to deal with if they run on a no-ball? Trying to get ready for the season and been asked to scored and only know the basics and what your first video has taught me

you don't seem to be recording dot balls against the batsman as well as the bowler. I was always taught that for each ball there's a minimum of 2 marks in the book.

A brilliant and excellent tutorial that makes a complicated and detailed process seem at least manageable - thank you and for providing your contact details, should any further tuition be necessary!

This basic video is brilliant and been really helpful. As a few have requested, is there any chance you could do an advanced video explaining the more tricky situations. Thanks

Great video thanks. Does anyone have a method of tracking the current score for each batter other than counting up all the runs against their name? Eg tracking every 10 (or other number) runs so you dont have to start from scratch every time. Would be particularly useful for noting the score of the not out batsman in the event of a wicket.

you could always mark the N.O batsman's score after each over on another piece of paper, if accessible.

If the batsman run on a bye and then overthrows occur do the overthrows go down as byes, as daft as it sounds

Can be quite difficult I often ask a member of the batting side if I’m not sure
@XiagraBalls3 жыл бұрын
You can add a quick note in the top right hand corner of the box with the batsman's name: e.g. "R/H", "L/H", "Red lid", "Blue lid", "fat", "tall"....

@@XiagraBalls I've had twins as partners. They're the same size and shape, bat the same, same colour pads, same looking helmets, and one was #28 and the other #29.

How to count the no. Of ball played by each player. Since you don't cont dot ball to batsmen account ❗
@matttriggs12682 жыл бұрын
Some scorers will put a dot in the batting rows too, but it’s extra work and not necessarily required.

No ball by ball scoring? No recording of time in and time out? No use of coloured pens! 🙀

I would just say that these are level two scoring details and this video is very much an introduction.
