I’m at 35:26 in the reading now, I think this is bringing to mind taping into the multifaceted aspects of self, especially with emotions, We don’t necessarily feel only 1 thing at a time, it’s far more likely that we are feeling multiple things at any given moment 🙂 and by acknowledging those multiple feelings, like really digging down and analyzing the best impulses from those feelings, can really lead us to clarity in complex situations or just in general. For me personally, survival mode has been at the forefront in a protecting myself type of way , but this survival mode can absolutely miss the mark on nuance and be a bit of an over reaction in direction of protection at any cost type vibe , which can actually make a situation harder than it needs to be. So that singular focus , survival mode impulse, while it might protect us, it won’t bring about the best possible result because we’re not looking for or listening to the many sights & sounds which are present.
