We drive Mahindra Scorpio N Z6 Diesel 4x2 for 600 Km, doing a return journey from Chandigarh to Amritsar and back to Chandigarh in order to find out the actual mileage / fuel economy that the vehicle delivers while driving at Legal Speed Limits after installing Alloys.

Hi Brother, kuch simple tricks hain average badhane ke...Cruise control use Karo and keep your speeds around 80...avoid sudden braking....try to maintain a line jahan Kam se kam speed changes ho...it is as simple as that. Agar mixed use ki baat karein...city and highway...even my Scorpio N gives 12-13 kmpl...but on highway trips like this...you can easily achieve above 15-16kmpl if you drive sensibly. Sir, may I know the variant you're using - MT or AT, Z6 or Z8? I believe you've installed 18-inch alloy wheels, causing a 2 km variation in mileage. If you had opted for 17-inch wheels, the mileage would likely remain the same

I have Z6 manual 4x2. I believe the drop of 1kmpl is due to alloys & 18 inch tyres and the other 1kmpl due to more congestion on the road I found in this trip

18" alloys from Mahindra should cost you around 65k for set of 4. Tyre cost depends on the tyre of your choice. I went for CEAT Crossdrive AT used in THAR. 255/65 R18 and infact saved money on exchange of 17 inch Bridgestone tyres that came stock with the vehicle

Tyre's cost was around 6500 per tyre (Fresh tyre), Alloys : 64000 for set of 4

There is no solution...only change in driving style is needed. This kind of average is achieved when you are able to cruise on a highway

And do not use ZIP mode...It just reduces your acceleration. I always use normal (ZAP) mode. Also I used ZIP mode only once and I had a DPF regen warning when I did that which destroys any potential fuel economy gains.

Tyre size variation is 5.18% This calculation is unreal. Your kilometre reading and speed shown are also not correct.

Do Consider speedometer error as well. The vehicle speed after tyre change is GPS accurate
