Scorpion Covert 2 helmet Review

I've got the same mat black covert I bought in 2018ish and it's still my main lid, same push button magnet release chin guard system, love it.

You should consider the newer one. Better comfort in my opinion and slightly higher build quality with the same style.

I have a covert x , large now , how does the sizing match up? Same? And covert x was super easy to run speakers in, how's the guts on the 2? Lastly is the mouth guard about the same snub size? Bc it's short perfect for shoulder checking...... I hated how long the chin bar was on the fx. Great vid 🍻

Thanks! To me the sizing is a tad bit more snug than the covert x, which I preferred. Overall more comfortable and didn’t give me pressure point pain. Guts seem better tooled to run speakers, and mouth guard to me is about the same size

I also have the X - what bothers me is the wind noise in the X. Is this better now with the 2?

@@MarcusFenixGears these kind of helmets are never going to be good for wind noise. It comes with the territory unfortunately

Love this helmet. Just need to find someone that has the largest size to see if it will fit on my gigantic head. The only helmet I found to fit me is the HJC line in 5x

dude same I just order this helmet in a 3xl I tried on the 2xl and it fit but it was super tight so I think the 3xl will be perfect.

Wouldn't the Bell Rogue be the first of this 1/2, 3/4, full face helmet idea?

Sure but from what I understand the bell rogue isn’t a convertible helmet.

@IronBornRider Well it basically is. Not down to 1/2, but it's a 3/4 with a removable rubber face shield to make it *appear* like a full face. Pretty much like the first Covert just maybe a bit flimsier. I loved mine when I wore it regularly. I admit the Covert has a better mask fitment but IMO the Rogue kinda started the way towards the convertible helmet.

I wouldn’t go for this helmet or any similar styles like this if you’re riding in the rain. The covert fx would be a better or even scorpion r1

How bad does your chin stick out the bottom? I keep seeing where the mouth guard doesn't come down very low and looks goofy. I have a Covert X and a Bell Broozer for these type helmets. Thinking about getting this one, but I haven't seen one in person yet to check how bad the chin guard is.

I think the covert fx is all around a better helmet, but if you’re into the convertible helmet this would obviously be the choice.

There are some videos on how to do that. But you basically have to pull the visor out of the tabs.

This isn’t rated as a full face helmet unlike the x15.

The covert 2 isn’t considered a full face helmet. It’s a 3/4 helmet. You should check out some of the other scorpion helmets like their scorpion air

Unfortunately no. The current EXO-Com only works on models with the built-in port; GT930, AT960, and T520. However the Covert 2 will accommodate most other com brands.

I have the boozer and I just bought the covert 2. Taking the covert 2 for a ride tomorrow. Initial thoughts... the covert 2 is much better. A much better fit for me (both medium). The boozer felt ok in store, but on a hand full of rides it felt off (possibly not a good helmet for my head shape). Covert 2 has much better padding quality. Easier push button on/off mask instead of the pull tabs on the boozer. Easier to snap the mask on without a mirror. Much better looking without the bobblehead shape of the boozer. Also the boozer has 2 vents on the side that can't be closed which is annoying and I'm sure contributes to more wind noise at high speeds. Now 2 things I like better about the boozer. The ratchet strap, although it's not safer, it's obviously a lot easier to deal with. And the visor on the boozer can be left cracked open for ventilation whereas the covert 2 can't. The big test is going to be wind noise. The boozer is incredibly loud at high speeds. I don't just mean loud, the wind seems to be channeling into the ear section creating a harsh piercing sound that hurts after an hour of riding at high speeds. To put this into context, I wear an ls2 open face half helmet with the snap on ear pads and I'm more comfortable with that at high speeds because it doesn't feel like there's a tunnel of wind noise directed straight into my ear canal.

Different names for commercial purposes. Covert's name is US side, Combat's name is for Europe.

I still ride with this helmet, mostly local. It’s safe in that it’ll protect your head (face not as well) but I also have full face helmets that I wear
