Well you can only sell the same product so many times.. So they have to try and change up the mechanics. But sadly I do agree it's not as fun. All the innovations they test out in the newer ones ruin it. I refuse to buy dynasty warriors 9 it got bad reviews and watched some reviews its Def not what I want in a dynasty game. Also any of the English got 10x worse since DW5. There was actual love for the acting back then. Today it's like they just read it off paper in 1 take. Like who the hel tries and make the sound " argghh argghh arrgggggghhhh" do that out loud and tell me that would sound cool to the players......they didn't care. What is the point in selling a product if you don't put love and care into it....people will see all the flaws instead.

The hack n slash genre is becoming a monopoly so no love and care is being put into it sadly anymore. You can clearly see it fro. The earlier games where they needed to make a good game to sell and make money to where the last few games even including warriors orochi 4. Is just cash grabbing at this point. I blame EA. Lol fuck EA. They gave examples to other industries on how to make fast cash on name brands people love but if you spend less money on developing you'll make triple the money cause people will buy it up cause of the name brand, all cause to people's past memories....The product use to be amazing.

So far I think Dynasty Warriors 8 is the best, it has more variety, you can ask your bodyguards (Other playable character) to hold a point, set a base on fire or assist your commander. Not so much for DW9 though.
