Saw Uli last summer. He was a bit of a jerk. Played one Scorpions song early. Then made everyone wait another 90 minutes before he played another. Three Scorpions songs total. Not cool at all when at the end of the day, almost everyone there wants to hear that early Scorpions stuff.

Uli had been touring the Scorpions material since 2014 (I saw him 4 times playing the Tokyo Tapes stuff during that time) and there are loads of bootlegs on here. He even re-recorded new versions of a load of the songs on a CD in 2015 and also released a live DVD playing all that stuff in the Sun Plaza hall in 2016, both highly recommended. His latest tour was clearly advertised as him moving away from that to his Electric Sun material from the 80's - you must have missed the memo. Along with the Electric Sun material, he also included a couple of songs from his brother Zeno, who died recently, plus some Hendrix stuff that he always does, plus some new material on his new 8-string acoustic. Once he's done that, there's not much room left in the set for the old Scorpions stuff.

Rudolf Schenker has been the only constant member of the Scorpions, and he has always been a great shredder. His younger brother Michael was also a member of the Scorpions, but left to join UFO.

I don’t think so tim.. Only effects Uli was using was that overdrive pedal for the end of that song, and a delay for the solo. There’s a reason why they didn’t play Catch Your Train, Virgin Killer, Dark Lady, Longing For Fire etc. after Uli left.

I saw this lineup open for Rainbow at CNE Stadium in Toronto around 1982 or so and though The Scorps had minimal lighting they BLEW Rainblow RIGHT off the f..king stage with their showmanship! These guys were a 'fireball' of energy!

This is pure GOLD. I understand why SCORPIONS progressively abandoned these beautiful songs from the Uli ROTH era when 'Lovedrive'; 'Animal Magnetism'; 'Blackout'; and 'Love At First Sting' outsold the RCA Years. While I love both the Uli ROTH and Matthias JABS eras of the group, the Uli ROTH era songs hold a special place in my heart. Better off to leave this song out of their set from now on since Ulrich Roth isn't playing the extraordinary lead guitar in it. Clearly one of Roth's signature songs. Listen to Roth on the Tokyo Tapes version 🎶 especially the ending Masterpiece wammy solo!!!! Mathias Jabs is not even in the same league as Ulrich Roth 🎸🎵 🎶 🔊.
