I'm so happy to see Uli-era Scorpions getting more attention and love. I first got to know Scorpions with this era, by pure accident - my father, who's a diehard rocker, bought a Scorpions compilation CD thinking it was from the 80s era, but it was all 1974-1977 stuff. The very first Scorpions song I ever heard in my life was "He's a Woman, She's A Man" - can you believe? And it was 1997, I was 12 years old. At that time all you could find was stuff from Lovedrive onwards. Thanks to my dad I got immediately hooked into Uli Jon Roth's screaming guitar and incredibly melodic solos, and I never looked back. He's still the guitarist that makes my spine tingle.

Similar for me. I was a big Helloween fan. I heard their cover of He's a woman, she's a man and saw it was a Scorpions song. I thought I had all of Scorpions albums cause I thought Lovedrive was their first album. I researched this Scorpions song I never heard of and discovered all the 70's albums.

What a gem of a performance. Definitely not their best known lineup, but probably their best lineup. What often gets lost with this group is the Germany angle. This still was the height of the Cold War. Germany still was split into two countries. There weren't any other German hard rock bands of note. These guys stood entirely by themselves. They don't get enough credit for how great they were in their prime.

That can be debated forever, however, I think it is accurate to say that, of all the bands who had some success in the 1970s, not many made the transition to the 1980s as good as the Scorpions did .. The 80s were not kind to a lot of established hard rock acts, but the Scorpions owned the 80s

It's so sad that most people don't know early Scorpions. When a layperson thinks of Scorpions its Wind of change, Hurricane, No One Like You, Still loving you, of which are great songs. I feel that if they had been an English or American band, they would be the best band of all time honestly . 200+ songs 19 albums, 100 million sold, almost 60 years making music, I don't think anyone took a German band serious in the early 70s. It was 20+ years after WWII, maybe nobody cared about "Kraut Rock". I met a guitar player today who was a session musician for bands like The Guess Who etc, and I asked him if he knew who Uli Jon Roth is and he said he never heard of him. I was like WTF?????? Don't even get me started on The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which is a joke also. They are just unbelievable.

I have been a Scorpions fan for a lot of years now and it still amazes me how impressive their discography really is. They have one of the best discographies in the history of music. A ton of great songs known and unknown to many. To be as great as they have been for as many years is nothing short of brilliant. If you own an extensive Rock collection and own nothing by Scorpions then it lacks legitimacy. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal owes a lot to Scorpions. Much respect. 🤘

They are greater now than in the 70’s. This why Scorpions has awesome music that will carry on more generations. Their toured in 2022 which turned out great. Takes me back to 1980 when Scorpions was on our lips constantly....no youtube at the time...in India not even easy access to internet. Laptop wasn't even a figment of imagination....ONLY VINYL RECORDS AND CASSETTE TAPES....BUT IT WAS BETTER THAN ALL THE SHIT GETTING INVENTED TODAY.

I remember the first time I heard of them when heard the Best of Scorpions vinyl in a friend's basement. I said how can this fantastic band I never of have a best of album? Had to be 1981 and I've been hooked ever since.
