the era of rock where the performers didnt have to be "pretty boys" you mean. There's plenty of post '84 music that still slaps that isnt modern. it's just "pop" music that falls quickly. Back in the 80s the main media for music wasn't video. it was Radio. So you could have talented ugly artists and no one cared. Now the mainstream is video with less emphasis on radio where people will look at a performer and just say "ew" without care for their individual talent. Video Really did kill the Radio star.

If I was hired to design the stage show for their concerts.... I'd rent some giant wind tunnel fans, a lightning ⚡and loud 🔊 thunder simulator....Then around 2:31 right before the lead guitar 🎸 kicks in for the solo...I'd dim the lights/darken the sky. Send out a couple lightning ⚡ ⚡ bolts and loud 🔊 thunder BOOM 💣 💥 then turn on the huge fans that are blowing fog & mist at the audience at about 65mph gusts....So as he's shredding his riff on lead guitar 🎸....The crowd is getting blasted with hurricane 🌀 type winds. Then slowly turn the fan speed down as solo riff ends.

Saw Scorpions live in 198? in Akron, Ohio at Monsters Of Rock. Klaus Meine is one of the best rock vocalists of all time! The dude sounds so freaking sweet live, strong, vibrant pipes. When he sang Still Loving You... I was just mesmerized by his voice.
