This is a composition based on the theme of Shanghai and its neighbouring regions, with the integration of Western composition elements. The composer made use of deep emotions, with an invigorating and rhythmic feel, to evoke a sense of longing for a better future. This piece won the Outstanding Achievement Award in the 1989 Shanghai Culture and Arts Festival.
