Scotland and NC500 Day5

Just when you thought the trip couldn’t get any better we experience another cracking day. Overcast to start with but changed to absolutely glorious weather, a nice 20oC+.
We set off for our friends house at Handa Ferry after another hearty breakfast at Hillhaven B&B.
Our first stop was Ullapool, no extortionately priced fish and chips this time, just a cuppa due the breakfast we’d already enjoyed before departure.
We then called off at Ardvreck Castle a 15th century ruin standing on the edge of Loch Assynt.
Next stop, the awesome little beach of Achmelvic, soft white sand and crystal clear water, reminded us of the Caribbean. We could have stayed all day.
We crossed over to the Wailing Widows Falls (Gainhmich Falls), a ten minute walk from the road side. Impressive and with the midge bites!
Last call and final part of the journey was crossing the Kylesku Bridge then onto our final destination at our friends home over looking Handa Island.
