Thanks yeah it was a good laugh. I originally wanted one for days off the mtb and holidays to do some coastal routes and stop at cafes/pubs but enjoying a wee weekly ride on it for a change at the moment! They don’t beat the mountain bike though!!

Hi Laura definitely need a 36 on the front with 11x50 on the back for a 1by ... I have the Vitus Substance VRS-2 with GRX 600 2x11 groupset with 11-34 and Byway 47mm tubeless tyres and that can tackle anything.. love it .. but definitely get a bigger cassette for sure for a 1by .. great vid and I've just subscribed to your channel... keep an eye on my channel will be doing some drone work with mine soon ... Yeah it's a bit too tough going on the current setup! Great bikes though, pleased with the choice. A fair bit of bike for the money with Vitus. Thanks! Sounds great, the footage from drones is spectacular. Most of my channel is MTB focused but with some gravel and different bike focused things in there too :)

Good idea thanks I’ve had quite a few people ask about the strava route etc for this one so I’ll look at getting the gpx file up and let you know where it is 👍

Grrat vid, how were your arms after that? I think I'll stick with my xc 29er with fast rolling tyres as a second bike for now 😏 although I've managed to get out so little I might need to steal Carrie's ebike 🤣

Thanks! They were actually fine! But my hands were a little sore from being in one position on the bars - should have been using the drops more! Haha I would definitely be stealing the e bike :)

Looks like you had a lot of fun filming that Laura. Got my eye on the 2021 Vitus Substance carbon frame with 2x (2020 2x all sold out). Was wondering what size your Substance is as I'm between sizes XS and SM and can't make mind up between bigger frame bag area or shorter/safer stand over height. Thanks.

It was a great ride this one. Sounds good, they are really capable bikes. 2021 is the way to go. There’s a real shortage of stock this year with the uptake on bikes! I was lucky to get one in stock when I did. I went for the XS in the end - I also couldn’t decide on the size. I’m 5 foot 4 and it feels like a good fit for me, reach and standover wise. Always a tough decision with sizes!

Nice edit. It's fun at first, but then you get more adventurous - all of a sudden no suspension, no dropper and skinny tyres makes a gentle trail feel like you're doing a lap of Fort Bill!!! 😂😂😂
