Scotland NC 500 Campsites, Beach, Sunsets, Scourie, Sango Sands, Achmelvich, Cape Wrath

West Coast of Scotland
Looking back to 2016, a camping trip to the West Coast of Scotland, covering the very North. This included the beautiful campsites of Achmelvich, Scourie, Sango Sands Oasis, and an afternoon trip by foot passenger ferry to Cape Wrath.
Much of Cape Wrath is owned by the MOD and is used as a bombing range and routine training that seems to be in decline now because of the cost.
Cape Wrath Lighthouse was built by Robert Stevenson in 1828. It is located at the most North-Westerly point on the British mainland and was manned until 1998, when it was converted to automatic operation by the Northern Lighthouse Board.

Never been that far North before, Skye is the furthest we have been, so real good to see this. The beaches were insane, absolutely gorgeous sands and when the sun went down the colours in the sky were amazing. Looked a real nice camp site there with plenty of room as well. Never realised how beautiful it was up there but I would love to visit for sure, cheers Alan
