Part 1 of our Scotland road trip! Hopefully it portrays how lovely this country is.... until part 2 shows you how the weather turned on us😂 Stay tuned!

I drove around in the Scottish highlands in 1991. We had gorgeous weather the entire week except the very last day! We went to Skye as well. Beautiful country!

Grim weather and it makes such a difference to the appearance of the stunning scenery! Along with the fab mountain shots, the food and freshly brewed coffee, look wonderful.

Loved the video. Especially the shot of the fishing boat in Skye; great perspective and clarity.

Loved the sound effects of pouring water into your coffee press or the seagulls in that one fishing dock scene. You've upped your vlog game!!! Nicely done!

I remember when I visited the UK in 2014, Scotland had all the dreary weather. We lucked out at Loch Ness but never visited the Isle of Skye. Besides Norway, the UK is top of my list for all the castles. Nice video guys!

It’s a risk you’re running, that’s for sure. We were a bit down when we saw the forecast, but it ended up being a very good trip anyway. Thank you😊

Watching a bit late, but looking forward to seeing the next few in the series! Scotland looks amazing, and was already on the bucket list even before watching. 👍

Great video guys. Remember I said previously that diesel heaters are most appreciated when you've been walking and got your clothes wet - now you know. 😉 The rented van is nice but it doesn't have the character that your van has. I'm well overdue for a Scotland/Isle of Skye road trip - later this year I think because the light there in October can be like liquid gold 👌. I'm looking forward part 2.
@SimonBraeck4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy. We sure got it confirmed during this trip, I really don’t know what we would have done without it. Spoiler alert: it gets even more praise in the next video!😂 Go for it, autumn colours there would be sick!
@andychattaway56204 жыл бұрын
@@SimonBraeck It's the light that's special in October up there in the North West of Scotland. There isn't much Autumn colour because there aren't many trees - The Vikings cut them down to make their longboats. Further south is good though in the oak and fir forests.
@SimonBraeck4 жыл бұрын
True, didn’t see many trees there when I think of it....

Awesome footage, Simon. I really like it when travel vlogs include bad weather as it shows a different side of the area than when it's sunny (which is rare in Scotland). You guys should make a trip to the Maritimes in Canada - very similar to this. Again, kudos to you both & keep 'em coming. Hope that this virus doesn't alter your plans too badly...
@SimonBraeck4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Justin!😊 Yeah, I feel like it’s important to include those parts too, not just the «pretty parts». Also, it’s gonna be even worse in the next video. Okay, I’ll look into it! Sadly we already had to cancel a two week trip to Costa Rica were we had planned a sick overlanding trip... Take care!

Got a 1998 t4. I'm spending alot of tine fixing rust now simon! Had the van 9 years now. Great Videos.cheers..
