My old granny Munro enjoyed a wee whisky occasionally and always raise a toast to the little gentleman in a black velvet jacket. As a young curious boy I asked her about it one day and she went in to tell me about it and Glen Coe and various other Scottish and Irish points in History, which, in turn ignited my passion for Scottish History ever scince.

Aye Bruce, it's the old Intensive Care doctor in me that is piqued by this yarn. Anyone who has fractured their clavicle will tell yer, it is painful and takes many months to heal. I suspect the dear king probably had also fractured his upper ribs, a terrible injury that would kill many a young man in those days and a few older ones these days. I do hope the sweet man did not suffer too greatly. No, I do! Honest!
@Ricky-oi3wv16 сағат бұрын
Let's hope you are not actually doctor, sneering at the suffering of others like that. William III was the first constitutional monarch, and held by people far brighter than you to have been our finest King.

As ever a very thoughtful and learned look at that terrible event. I've been threatened so many times over what happened hundreds of years ago. I wish I could say my replies were of the type to cool down hot heads. I am glad I can't remember them anymore. My best to you sir!

what a video, i've been subbed for a few year now. saw your gig & the stand Glasgow, after failing to get a ticket to a local to paisley show. i took my dad & before it he was talking about billy Connolly, & i said don't be expecting the greatest comedian in the world, who happens to be Scottish, you will see the best comedian that will tell you a bit about Scotland's history & he also happens to be Scottish, with dredds, lol. my dad loved the show & then when you announced some dates & 1 was kilbarchan, I booked a ticket for me & a pal I knew would love it. I don't know why this Story hit different. the wait for it, the way you told it, the way it came full circle, probably the fact i've been stuck in hospital fae Tuesday & know I wasn't getting out till moday, & that you usually drop the video at the weekend. i'll be trying to get tickets now for this new show, even if I need to travel.

It has always struck me as very strange that Scotland went for union with England after Darien. I guess bribing MPs was even more rampant then than now as was being economical with the truth.

The Alien Act, confiscation of land owned by Scots in England, along with an implied threat of invasion from English forces just over the border and in Ireland, didn't help either.

My Dad was 100% Scottish. My Mum was 50% French, English. I was totally confused. Sunday morning would deliver the stench of kippers. Every other day would be a repast of overcooked slush. The first Campbell I ever met gave me a feeling I could not shake.
