What an amazing series of videos! Thanks for sharing the history of these legendary Scottish regiments.

Fascinating, My grandfather, George Alexander Warren, was a trooper in the 1st Scottish Horse. He was 18 years old in 1914. I have a postcard of him on his Horse taken at Stannington, near Blythe Northumbria at Christmas 1914., which was sent to his sister in Edinburgh stating that his leave had been cancelled and mentioning hearing “cannonades firing at the coast” the night before. Later he was dismounted and took part in the Gallipoli landings where he caught dysentery. He seems to have been invalided home and treated in a hospital at Maryhill, Glasgow. According to his card at the National Archives at Kew he was then transferred to the Royal Field Artillery and served on the Western Front.

My uncle was in the Fife & Forfars from 39 to 45. He was a motor cyclist and escaped France via Cherbourg. He was in the Normandy and the rest of the war. He never talked about what he saw.

What a superb video. I don't think that the British Army themselves could do better, to be honest.
