Just a quick message to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Thanks for all your support and love for the videos . I tried to keep the best adventures for the festive period so the last 4 or 5 were from my adventures earlier in the year. So many lovely comments on this video that I am going to struggle to reply to all so thought I would say thank you in this one and I'll try and respond over the next few weeks. Taking a break for a while , so take care of yourself and I'll be back at some point in 2021. Take Care all and Thanks for watching Murray

Hi Murray, I hope you and yours are keeping safe and healthy. Like the rest of us you'll be missing the mountains but maybe not much longer to wait now. In between local walks I imagine you'll have been planning adventures further afield and I look forward to the return of your vlogs. ATB, Ian

@@IanTupmanOutdoors Thanks Ian, cant wait - not been out since last year. Hoping once the stay at home message is lifted I'll perhaps start exploring Perthshire again maybe next month if all goes to plan. I actually have eleven vlogs from last year before lockdown but waiting until things ease before putting them out, didn't think it was the right thing to put them out when the pandemic was at its height. Lets hope things ease back down in the coming weeks and we can get back out and about :) Take care Thanks Murray

Brilliant Murray ! My most memorable temperature inversion was on Liathach a while back. I'd been Munro bagging in Torridon and had saved the best 'till last. All week the summer weather had been glorious, so I couldn't complain when, on my last day, thick cloud had reduced visibilty to about 50m. I trudged onwards and upwards, until about 200m below the final pull to the summit ridge, when I realised there was something surreal about the light ahead... in another ten paces I stepped into brilliant blue skies, a sea of majestic peaks jutting up through the cloud base... and visibility of. it seemed, a thousand miles ! Like a kid I spent the next half-hour going back and forth - stepping in to this dense, silent (and cold !) cotton wool cloud - could not see the hand in front of my face - then gleefully stepping through this 'meteriological door' into the warmth of this vivid, technicolour mountain spectacle... Great days !

WOW what an amazing night you had ! June 1994 was the last time I was up, nearly as good a day but we didn't have that lovely cool start, we had heat & kegs right from the off. Camped just before the bogs started (no way were we pulling force 10 tents any higher 🤣) but we lugged stoves & dinners to the summit along with whiskey and we lingered well past sun down. Definitely must put it on the list for next year esp as its one the husband hasn't done. Aye, kegs and midges are pretty high on the list of what I remember about it back then 😂 as well as bulky uncomfortable rucksacks, heavy tents & the aroma of methylated sprirts from 6 camp stoves. Good times indeed.
