The United Kingdom is better UNITED. We are stronger together and have one of the longest histories of any nation in the world. A great history that while a large part of it has been bloody, it also has great achievement’s and has brought us to the developed, free nation we are now. Together we are an important partner with NATO, a crucial part of the Global 20 (G20) and Global 8 (G8) whilst being a great global power. If we are broken up we would be a laughing stock of a nation among other nations. Not only would we be a smaller nation but no doubt will affect us economically and military in terms of size and presence. Russia is grabbing land, Argentina is on our case over the Falkland’s and we live in an uncertain world where terrorism is rife. In the UK unemployment rate of the economically active population is 6.9% and the UK economy has grown by 0.8% in the first quarter of 2014! Not to mention the 3.1% growth in 2013...Its stance has been bolstered by falling inflation, which dropped to 1.6% last month, its lowest rate in more than four years! The same arguments keep coming up and yet the same answers always get replied. Trident. Huge employer for Scotland & whilst It’s not the most attractive option being a WMD I would rather have it and not need it then not have it and need it. North Sea Oil & Gas. This is a fact and a fact confirmed by exec’s. This is not an endless source of income for any nation especially Scotland and like every natural resource this will eventually dry up. We need to have renewable energies and other industries that can continue the UK’s strong economy. The financial and insurance sector for the UK is one of the largest in Europe and is a huge source of income not to mention other areas like the industry etc. The latest news is that major companies would move south or increase prices in case of a “YES” vote. To me this is suicide! Only recently a friend of mine who works for one of these major companies had a letter in the post saying that with the increase uncertainty about the referendum that there would be a chance she as many others would be made redundant. This is just 1 company who employs thousands! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise where this is heading and people are deluded who don’t believe this. This is first-hand experience right there in front of you. I would rather not take the risk especially for people with families and mortgage to pay. I simply ask my fellow scots… Are you really suffering as result of being part of the UK? …. Are you really that hard up? Do you struggle to get to work every day or cannot find employment? Are you absolutely fed up with the public services like NHS or the education system etc. then I can simply say vote “YES” For me and many other fellow Scots I feel that the fact that I am able to vote am in full time employment , have a house, and have children that receive great education, have world beating Universities and attended from students all over the world, have a health service that most countries would only dream of with the latest of technologies and medical science at hand leading edge and highly trained armed forces to protect this nation and amazing emergency services and other services that we sometimes take for granted leads me to believe that I myself and other Scots haven't really got it hard at all as long as you are hardworking and willing to contribute to this nation. I appreciate that there are many areas for improvement but what nation doesn’t have this!? Don’t you think that together we can make this nation better and stronger? Don’t you think that after hundreds of years being part of the Union we can go for another 500? We have just gone through one of the biggest recessions in history and as a nation with have stood tall and have little austerity measures compared to other developed nations including Spain, Greece and Italy who have experience riots, strikes and huge unemployment. I urge you to VOTE NO! STAY AS UNITED KINGDOM - STAY AS GREAT BRITAIN!

***** I'm sorry you feel like that. Personally for me and many other Scots we are happy as we are. We feel more secure and feel we have a challenging but positive future ahead. Obviously I don't expect everyone to feel like this but the 55% who voted NO.
