Scott Aukerman - Lauren Lapkus - Paul F. Tompkins - “Double Time” from THREEDOM

Earwolf’s “Threedom” is my favourite comedy podcast after “Comedy Bang! Bang!”. It’s not only very funny, but also gives the listener more of an insight into the daily lives of Scott Aukerman, Lauren Lapkus and Paul F. Tompkins than other podcasts, as there’s no guest to get to. It’s funny hearing your comedy idols talk of having the same problems you do (although I find myself constantly wanting to offer solutions and advice, from which I refrain because I don’t want to be stalky).
I thought of uploading a “Threedom” compilation ages ago, but there are few edit points to be found along the show's silly streams of consciousness, which have a flow it’d be criminal to cut. There is a segment that stands alone though, a feature called "Threeature" in which the trio play a different game each episode. As it was, even this episode's game had to be edited, to cut a callback that would’ve made no sense. After I laughed so hard at this I almost drove off the road, I decided to share it.

I love how chaotic Threedom gets with the constant interruptions and tangents. One of my favorite moments is when Lauren is telling a story and there is about forty seconds without an interjection and she actually stops because it feels so weird

I discovered the Pretzel Gang about three months ago, and have been devouring all their episodes since. I listen to them when I am driving, and have honestly had to pull off to the side of the road about 4-5 times because I am laughing so hard. They have a fantastic dynamic; they are so funny on their own but together they are otherworldly. THREEDOM!

In the latest episode from 2021, Lauren complained about how the half-life game goes on for too long. I've noticed a theme with Lauren and PFT frequently complaining about how long these improv games take. Why is this? It usually kills the fun of the game when they complain. Why not just have fun and not be concerned about the duration? They also complained during this one even though it was the best one that they have ever done. I laughed so many times during this whole segment. So the segment taking longer than they wanted was well worth it.

I've noticed that, but yeah, they should have more confidence in themselves. They are always hilarious. I've noticed Scott usually tries to get them enthused. The other one that is a good example is how they all tire of "nicknaming”, but it's very funny how they can't be bothered, especially Scott at the end when Paul says he will tell him how he got his name and Scott is like "meh".

Radio podcasts ....I wish they would die, but I love these guys beyond all superlatives

Do you mean you want podcasts of radio shows gone? If so, I couldn't agree more. I HATE radio, maybe because I worked in it for 20 years and I know how contrived breakfast radio is, the fake camaraderie (and its offshoot, the fake laughter) drive me bonkers. Just hearing a 30-second promo for a breakfast "zoo" or whatever is enough. I think "if that's the best of your 3 hours on-air today, no thanks!" and so, for me (and for most leaving radio like rats from a sinking ship) podcasts are a godsend. REAL podcasts I mean, not those distributed by radio conglomerates with their manufactured bonhomie, but REAL people talking REAL shit, not about who got kicked off "Married At First Sight" last night or how guys are so dumb and women too fastidious. It's pretty annoying actually that radio started pushing its way into the podcast arena. But who could blame them? Podcasts are where all the cool people are these days. Yep, these three included.

@@BabyFaceBren I am surprised radio is still around, I just meant podcasts with no video when I said radio podcasts. It does not seem like a phenomena that will see the decade out. My prediction is that even Marc Maron will own a webcam by 2030.
