Would you take it over the Orvis H3D. Interested in 5 weights. Curious, if you could so please pontificate, the contrast between the centric and H3D...in your humble opinion. Looking to indicator/nymph fish 75% of the year and dry rest. Thanks!!

Cast one recently and it feels like a broomstick 10ft 6wt. Feel that manufacturers are making rods WAY to fast. Used a 6wt SA Amplitude on it and would overweight to a 7wt Amplitude if it was my rod. Nice finishing and quality like with all Scott rods but I feel they got this one wrong.

You are not alone in that opinion Frank, a lot of folks have found this too fast for their liking. Almost as if Scott built a rod out of their branded "Scott feel". Though, like everything, there are many who like the stiff action of a very fast rod.

Have you had a chance to cast a radian Scott? I know the centric replaced the radian. But I know the centric is faster than it. I’m a radian owner and the stroke of the cast works so well for me I get butterflies still lol. Might be your pace. Tho I don’t know if shops carry them still

Would u take it over the sage x?

It depends on what rod size you are thinking and how you will be fishing it.

@@RGJR02 Based on my current experience with both rods, The X might be my initial choice, but we have not had experience with the 10' 4 weight so I can't say with full certainty.

Rio Grand? That's a full line size heavy line! Even though being a fast rod, it should need to go a full line size up. Half line size up should be more than enough. Otherwise the rods are rated too light. I also heard that the Centric weighs a more than the Radian. So how can that be 'light'?...
@Duranglers4 жыл бұрын
In the video, we said Rio Gold for a recommended fly line. We said Rio Grande because we actually guide clients on the Rio Grande, which is a river. In English that means "Big River". It's in Colorado, not just Texas. As far as weight, don't be deceived by the scale young padawan, just because it weighs "x" on the scale does not mean the swing weight is heavy. You should check the rod out instead of going off of what you hear on the internet...plus I can't confirm or deny that it weights more.

@@Duranglers Mentioning the Rio Grande just after talking about the fly lines you used put me off guard a bit. Apologies
