Setting the trombone on the chair like that is bad. Best way is to set it on the ground with the mouth piece, bell, and tuning slides. Make sure the slide goes under the chair so it is harder to hit. This protects the slide from being bent

As a trombone play, NEVER!! EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVVVVVVERRRRR, LEAVE YOUR TROMBONE BALANCING ON A CHAIR!!!!!! Set it on the floor with 3 points of contact. These three points of contact should be the mouthpiece, the bell, and the tuning slide.

When he hit the mouthpiece it hurt my soul. My first time marching was my worst time marching. we were finished with the show and i was late to put my outfit away so i had to take it with me on the bus if that wasn't bad enough i tried to take my mouthpiece off and it was impossible to take off. After we got off the bus and put stuff away I had to get the band director and took like ten minutes to take off the mouthpiece. Definitely an experience I won't forget.
