Scott Joplin - Original Rags Vol. 2 - 432Hz

Scott Joplin (born November 24, 1868 in Marshall, died April 1, 1917 in New York) - American composer and pianist, ragtime style popularizer. He became famous as the creator of the first African-American opera - A Guest of Honor. In 1908, his textbook The School of Ragtime - Six Exercises for Piano was published. It is mainly associated with ragtime compositions: Maple Leaf Rag from 1899 and The Entertainer from 1902

Zasłynął jako twórca pierwszej opery afroamerykańskiej - A Guest of Honor. W 1908 r. zostaje opublikowany jego podręcznik The School of Ragtime - Six Exercises for Piano. Kojarzony jest przede wszystkim z kompozycjami ragtime: Maple Leaf Rag z 1899 i The Entertainer z 1902

As for Maple Leaf Rag Song, this was not arranged by Joplin, but rather by Etilmon Stark, son of publisher John Stark. My performance is very much based on the sheet music with few liberties taken. Criticize the now-dead arranger, not the composer or performer.

Well, there is definitely some poetic license here, but I'm actually liking many of the interpretations. Maple leaf is stretching it, but many are truly beautiful. Who knows, perhaps even Mr. Joplin would approve.

Its the Maple Leaf Song, its a seperate composition based on the Maple Leaf Rag from 1899.

Just wander how it comes Maple Leaf Rag song 1903 ? was it published in that form as we can hear here? and on personal note its sound over done. Is it just me ... to not particularly likening that version of Iconic Rag? Don't take me wrong way I'm all hands in experimenting, improvisation and adding new personal touch to classics but from 1-10 its just 3+ in my book lol

@@wholesomekeks5598 It is a Joplin compostion from 1903, it was remade to the original 1899 Maple Leaf Rag version, able to sing with it! In volume 1 of this series, also on this channel you can hear the Maple Leaf Rag from 1899.

Maple Leaf Rag Song -- a different composition by Joplin for voices (not heard here). Presumably intended to capitalize on the populatrity of the earlier composition. I had to look this up, but it's true.
