I'm excited to know more about Pearl's back story, her origin, how she met Howard, etc. I also love how Mia played as her, you wouldn't even had figured she did two roles in this movie. X was definitely a movie I add onto my top 10 horror films.
@moldypizza2 жыл бұрын
You’re in luck, they already filmed a prequel about Pearl. Did you see the post credits sequence about her?
@nickperez9152 жыл бұрын
The prequel is a much needed addition, they left a lot to the imagination in the first film which was great but seeing how she became a murderer in an older America is a must see after delivering such a good first film

Brittany Snow stole the show! You think she’s gonna be the dumb blonde but she was probably the smartest character of the bunch. She was also really funny and I was laughing my ass off when she was telling off granny. Finally bringing likeable characters back to the slasher film. It made me feel really bad when they started to get off’d. All scenes with the crocodile scared the shit out of me and that crane shot triggered my thalassophobia

I LOVE THE MOVIE, both Brittany snow and Mia goth were wonderful. And it was good to hear a horrific scream from Jenny. Overall best slasher film of 2022. Slasher films have gone dead besides swing sequels of classic films like scream, Texas chainsaw massacre, or Halloween. So thank the lord for this film!

How often do you see a horror and a porn movie all in one, with Kid Cudi who’s also the executive producer, and a Pitch Perfect girl? Exactly.

The characters were so well thought out that you couldn’t help but want all of them to live. And that’s crucial for a horror movie.

Unfortunately, I've never heard of Ti West before this film, but I'm very excited to dive into his filmography now. He was very articulate in this video, and the way the cast talks about him makes him even more likeable. Speaking of the cast, they were all so interesting to watch in their respective roles. This was a wild movie, can't wait to see it again!

ThatOneGuy-You're definitely in for a treat with both House Of The Devil, & The Innkeepers. The Inkeepers starts off as a bit of a slow burn, but it's definitely one of the creepiest ghost stories I've seen on film.
@thatoneguy77092 жыл бұрын
@@kirstyfairly4371 I ordered The Innkeepers and it arrived yesterday, and I just ordered House of the Devil. Planning on doing a double feature soon. I did read that Ti West's films tend to start off as a slow burn, but I don't think I'll mind the buildup. Ghosts have never really freaked me out in a horror film before though, so I'm excited to see what he does with this film. If X taught me one thing, it's that The Innkeepers will, at the very least, be unsettling lol. Thanks for the info!

I loved this movie WAY more than I should have. I'm not a horror stan but I've loved everything Ti West has done.. It just all meshed SO well and the entire cast was brilliant. I just wish I hadn't seen the trailer in theaters like 3 times before finally getting to see this one. It was still very smart and interesting thinking the entire time "how are these "old people (obviously in heavy prosthetics)" going to murder all these young, healthy, strong folks!? That being said, I had never seen Jenna Ortega in anything before Scream "2022" and The Fallout this year. She's fucking INCREDIBLE.

Repression, regret, and envy. These are the core themes of X. Cattle live uneventful and ultimately uniform lives until one day they’re gone. There’s a reason Wayne and his makeshift family drive around them. They are not cattle. They are the counterculture. Sure they have their flaws but deep down all of them are friendly, kind, and passionate. Hedonistic and making the most of their youth and vitality. Is it any coincidence the house they’re renting is full of warmth and light? Compared to the older couple who represent a repressed, regretful, and ultimately jealous society who only manage to find their jollies and bond by stifling, by “snuffing out,” the people who don’t represent their archaic values. It’s a culture war to them and they’re trying to preserve society. Only then does light, warmth, and passion emerge in their home. They enjoy the things the young people like. Clearly they can relate and possibly even bond. Jackson and Pearl’s husband are both war veterans, not so different from each other, right? But envy, they lash out in envy. The older couples’ repression leads to regret. My one issue with this movie is that it’s anvilicious when it doesn’t need to be. Bobby Lynne, Wayne, Jackson, and the older couple TELL us through dialogue the themes of the film which I stated above. Completely unnecessary when it does a decent job of conveying it via visual storytelling. It ends on a positive note. The counterculture strikes back. The boomers lose, the young people and their progressive values endure after a harrowing battle. Unfortunately a young adult who was beginning to experiment with her sexuality, lost her life in the process. Something all too familiar to our generation We millennials and Gen Z’ers desperately needed this movie in these trying times. Because it’s an allegory of what’s going on today. Nice homages to Psycho and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, too.
