This is the ending to go with. It allows everyone to win. Scott gets the girl he really wants, and Knives gets to clown him and move on by her own choice. Knives being with Scott after all that would have made her look weak. This way she comes out just fine.

A.) He got infatuated with her not because she was hot and mysterious, but because she kept using the Subspace highway through his head causing her to appear in his dreams. B.) I think you're putting words in the filmmakers' mouths. An alternate interpretation could be that the Power of Love alone isn't enough, forcing Scott to learn that message. Either one of those could be true.

Well really Ramona was the intellectual dream girl that Scott wanted to spend his life but what Scott didn’t realize is that he was also worried about what that means for Knives knowing since Knives was also still in school plus the fact that Scott was only and only was fighting for his dream crush which is Ramona but all this time when he was dating Knives, it was like Knives was faking being stupid the whole entire time because she knew by the expression of Scott’s face and feeling until then that would led to what happened all 3 of them Knives told Scott oh I know this whole entire time you were fighting for her and told her I’m too cool for her anyway and Scott realized when Ramona saying maybe I’m not who you should be fighting for. Till then Ramona realized that Scott was truly the one and that’s what happened in the original ending

I have just finished watching this movie for the first time! And I loved it. I meant to watch it when it first came out but just never got around to it. I played the demo for ps3 back in 2010 but never beat the full game. It wasn’t until Nintendo Switch released it this month and that’s when I purchased it. I had unfinished business. I love the game. I’m half way through the game and it just got me so excited to watch movie and just to get a feel of the characters personalities better. So after 10yrs I can say I finally watched it. I loved all the effects they used, it was funny and the fight scenes were entertaining. I really loved Knives, such a sweet girl and a badass. Scott is an ass. I definitely would have choose Knives over that hoe lol.

metallavery The Alternate ending was the original ending from the author. Test audiences didn't like it yes, but this hurts the argument you're trying to make. In a movie about escaping reality in favor a fantasy world, people would naturally choose to live in the fantasy which is why so many chose the bs fantasy ending with stilted dialogue and a completely unrealistic progression. The alternate ending was more natural and more based in reality. It also had all the characters growing up and acting more adult. The real ending was only changed because people are idiots that can't enjoy a good moral and would rather sit in their fantasy world. Its the only reason.

This is the better ending of the 2. The alternate ending is a dream. A very sweet dream but in the end you fight for the people you love. Not literal fights but battle demons inside you just to keep the ones you love close to you. This is how it should be. Sometimes you have to take that leap of faith and not care where you fall because in the end you have no one can make that decision for you.

The alternate ending would've fit better with this adaptation of the story because of how they portrayed Romana. She came off as dismissive and distant in the movie, but in the comics she was a lot warmer towards Scott and everyone else. The movie came out before the final book was released so the comic ending is a lot different, so, in my opinion, the endings could've been more different from each other.

Tbh, this movie just did Ramona completely wrong. Not only did she never seem very attracted to Scott at all, but she wasn’t close with any of the other characters and she never really had to face her own demons/flaws in the same way that Scott did. By the end of this movie, Scott shows regret for how he treated Knives and acknowledges that he needs to work on his flaws. Ramona doesn’t show regret for how she treated her Ex’s and she doesn’t acknowledge any fault on her part. That’s kinda why I like the Alternate Ending better. Even if Knives does deserve better than Scott and is a bit too young for him, Scott by the end of the movie is too good for Ramona.
